Cuban Link, once a member of the Terror Squad, has spoken out once again against his former comrade, Fat Joe. The rapper accuses Joe of leaving Big Pun's family financially unsecure -- being that Pun's wife, Liza Rios, is struggling to this day with claims she's never received any royalty checks from the late rapper's album sales.
Recently, Rios put Big Pun's Terror Squad medallion up for sale on EBay in an attempt to raise money for the family, and reports have claimed that she is attempting to sue Pun's label for money he is owed. Cuban claims that Fat Joe is to blame for Pun's family's financial situation, and further accuses him of blocking royalty checks owed to Pun's widow.
"[Fat] Joe owes a lot of money. He's been fucking around with the money, the royalty checks and all of that," Cuban told BallerStatus.net. "Pun's wife should never ever have had financial problems with as many records as Pun sold."
"Brothers do not do that to their family members, and he knew that the only thing Pun left behind was his kids. Even if Joe didn't like his wife, he could help out the kids -- he could have definitely done that," Cuban added.
As far as Fat Joe's success, Cuban credits Pun for Joe's album sales and mainstream success. And further alleges that Pun is responsible for many of Joe's rhymes including "Twinz (Deep Cover 98)" on Pun's first LP, Capital Punishment.
"The reason behind [Fat Joe's] success was Pun, everybody' knows that," Cuban explained to BallerStatus.net. "People are not what they say sometimes, and what that ni--a's been saying out his mouth all these years after Pun passed away, it's really obvious it hasn't been true."
The beef between Cuban Link and Fat Joe started once their fellow rapper Big Pun passed. After Joe allegedly pushed back the release date of the his Atlantic Records debut, 24K, and the two were involved in an altercation at Jimmy's in the Bronx, New York years ago, leaving Cuban with his face sliced, the two became bitter enemies and it doesn't seem they will reconcile anytime soon.
"I don't want nothing to do with that man," Cuban Link told BallerStatus.net in a past interview. "We had our experience and it ended sourly; it's personal. Our relationship was 12 years deep and I just know him too good and he knows me too good. It's something we can't go back on. It can't be done. It just can't."
The rapper is preparing to release his long-awaited-debut, Chain Reaction, which hits stores on Tuesday, August 16. The album includes an all-star list of featured guests such as Mya, Jadakiss, The Game, Cap One, Avant, Syleena Johnson, Figaraw, Triple Seis, and Baby Pun (Big Pun's 10-year-old son).
At press time, efforts to reach Fat Joe for comment were unsuccessful.
