Yeah I just got back from lighting off a shit load of fireworks at my friends house.

Between 3 of us that bought fireworks we spent $200 at Boom City.

I got this one motar shell for $15 that instead of when exploding in the air and making the colors and shit it was a explosion the equivalent of a 1/4 stick of dynamite....that shit was hella loud. If I would have known it was like that I would have got a few. But I was kind of skeptical because it looked just like any other motar shell that comes in the packs and I didn't want to get scammed.

The people down the street who had some sick fireworks too came up the street and were like "what the fuck was that?" It was crazy because it went about 100 feet up and you could acctually see the shock wave from the explosion.

All in all we had a great time...I fucking love going to the Indian Reservation and just getting awhole shit load of fireworks.

What's with THIS year though? All weekend as soon as the sun goes down it sounds like fukking Baghdad around here. More this year than most, cops usually crack down - this year nada. Not that i'm complaining, it's just unusual.

I went to the Pirates v Phillies baseball game, so I was out in the sun all day drinking. By the time the fireworks rolled around, all of my friends went down the Point. I was pretty fuckin hammered and dehydrated, so I just walked home by myself. I got home and started drinking Crown Royal, watching the city fireworks from my roof. Eventually I got depressed about me and my girl splitting up and me watching the fireworks by myself, so I stood on my roof and gave a 7 shot salute while the fireworks were going off. I figured it was the only time i could unload my gun in public without having someone call the cops on me.

SAN JUAN - "What I saw is unforgivable," said Gov. Sila Calderon to summarize the sadness she felt when visiting a girl hospitalized at the Rio Piedras Medical Center after sustaining head injuries from a stray bullet during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

Calderon went to the Pediatric Hospital to visit Sahony Lopez, mother of Saymi Lopez, the four month-old baby who is in intensive care.

The governor reproached those whom she called irresponsible for shooting randomly in the air on New Year’s Eve, injuring 22 people and killing a 10-year-old.

"A heavy campaign against stray bullets was conducted, and yet many people ignored it, resulting in the tragic situations we all know. What I’ve just seen is unforgivable," Calderon said during a press conference at the hospital.

The four month-old baby underwent surgery after a bullet went in and out of her head.

The governor said one of the nurses told her that the baby girl is responding well to the medical care.

"We will have to wait, but it is really impressive. There are no words to describe what I have seen," Calderon insisted.

Damn...now you're making me thing I probably killed somebody. I guess I'll think twice before I shoot stray bullets off the top of my apartment.

I was wondering that anyways - if you shoot a bullet up in the air, does it always come down just as fast? Like...it doesn't slow down or anything. So when it hits after being shot up in the air, is it the same as getting shot?

^^^ How much did you pay for the fireworks that you got?
Different prices for different things:

My girlfriend got 3 of those big ass color fountains (the green one in the pictuers) for $9

3 gross of screamer bottle rockets for $12

2 gross of bottle rockets for $8 (the first few pictures are us shooting off 30 bottle rockets at once)

18 roman candles (flame & report) for $12

24 mortar rounds & 2 mortar tubes for $45

A free-falling bullet can carry enough velocity to rip through the hood of a car or to pierce a human skull.

Researchers report that a bullet fired into the air can climb two miles into the air and remain in flight for more than a minute. As it falls, the bullet reaches a velocity of 300 to 700 feet per second. A velocity of only 200 feet per second is sufficient to penetrate the human skull.

in 1994, a police helicopter in Riverside, California was hit by bullets apparently fired by New Years Eve celebrants. The pilot was wounded and the fuel tank of the helicopter was punctured, forcing an emergency landing
