Faculty at the CSU schools are very close to going into strike, mainly because the teachers aren't getting pay raises while the schools' executives have gotten incredible raises the last few years. At Sacramento St. there is a whole lot of shit going on right now too. Anyone else aware of this, or going to a CSU?

i go to sf state, and theyve stretched out the vote for a strike till the 21st, i believe. at that point, if they vote yes and the negotiations have not worked out the way the wanted them to, i guess there's gonna be a 2 day rolling strike for each school, if ive figured it out correctly. i think its like, the first school, the first day, will have the teachers strike, then the next day, the entire faculty, and then it will move on from school to school. i could be wrong though, but its something like that.

^^^ Yeah that's what I heard too. I just hope I get credit for my classes, but I support the teachers' cause since the executives at most of the schools have gotten HUGE raises and the teachers have gotten the shaft. Fuck those yuppies...

and Kayvee, these cousins are male or female? :)

even in Washington this same shit is happening....

the profs at the school i go to, make like 30k per year, while the president of the university makes over 200K.....

not to mention, in the town were i go to school, the principal at the middle school got a 7% raise (now making 100K+ per year), and got a 5K singing bonus...while the teachers all got like 1-2% raises....

teachers don't make SHIT.

^^that's probably a rich district.

washington is like 47th or 48th for highest paid teachers....so teachers in washington don't make shit.

but there are school districts that have more money because of higher property taxes, which means there are rich people in the area, and rich kids going to the school, which means more money is available for teachers...that's common sense. if you assume that all situations are like this, i feel bad for your brain.

Professors @ CSU Chico are considering taking part in a rolling strike for many of the same reasons as CSU Sacramento.

the teachers havent gotten a raise in over 10 years. most of the executive, such as the president at our school, have received substantial raises over the past few years.

about the students, ive heard that some schools are gonna cancel the semester (meaning u dont get your credits) and/or not giving out refunds for tuition.
