Just an fyi...

This is album is tight, but this ain't even his real album. His real album Blue Damien: The Pirate Ship comes out in March. He has so many songs that he just put this out as a teaser, but I gaurantee ya'll we love this album. It doesn't have a real cover, or credits in it. Just some underground hungry shit! Wait until you hear Blue Damien. In my opinion right now Dago, we got that shit. Like wallnutz said we have some of the best music right now (wait until ya'll hear the soundtrac, quic plug). Sooner or later Dago is going to blow. A major has to come down here and soak this shit up. If they don't then we're just going to keep blowin' up the underground. Pic this shit up ya'll!!

As far as dist. that's a funny game. Especially now cuz the music industry is in a slump. Wherehouse filed for Bankruptcy, and closed down about 100 stores, Sam Goody closed down some stores. And without any major features on an album it's hard to get disty. Even with features you might not get it now, cuz that doesn't mean shit either now. But without features you really don't stand a chance to get any orders, and disty co.'s know this, so they won't even accept certain products. So it ain't like us in Dago ain't handlin' our business and getting disty( I had disty on both of my albums, and Mitchy had it too), it's just that they don't base distribution on how tight your product is (the stores that order it don't even hear the music, it's just a catalogue with a name and they choose it, so why would they choose somebody they never heard of from another city), cuz we have some of the tightest shit in the game, it's just that game goes on sells history, and if they haven't heard about you, they're not going to order it. So don't think Dago ain't handlin' our business. We tryin' ya'll. We got the product. It's just not that easy though. 1

Boy C.S. you's a mutha fucka! You said everything I was gonna say in a nutt shell, right now the industry is in real fucked up shape. I talked to Mack 10 last night and he was even talking about the same shit. Mack just got released from Cash Money and is strictly independent, and I might as well let it be know that we're holding back on the Mitchy project because shit just ain't right. We can get distribution through Southwest Wholesale, City Hall, Selecto - Hits but the key is, are they gonna do our product right. People we're complaining about not being able to find Mitchy's album last time but we had major distribution first time out, so what does that say about distribution??? Anyway Mitchy is just sitting back trying to make his stock go up higher, jumping on other peoples projects, putting out mix tapes and just keeping his name in the streets. Mitchy goes in the studio this weekend with Xzibit to work on the Golden State Warrior project. So be on the lookout!!!! Oh yeah! Mitchy, Damu, C.S. and I forget everybody else that's on the song got a heater that's gonna be on C.S.'s new project. Tell em who's all on the song C.S.?

Holla back:

Janky, you know I know how this game is right now. We knee deep in it. The "San Diego Got Heat" song is Me, Mitchy, Ecay, Damu and I-Rocc produced by Cricet. It's heat!!!!!!!!!!!! First song on the soundtrac. That nigga Mitch be gettin' his network on! He's going to be on that Golden State project, that's big.

Plus he just told he just did an interview and photo shoot for XXL magazine, and he said he will be in the Source next.

Janky, that's why I'm not even lookin' for disty on the soundtrac. I know it hardly won't get any orders because it's mostly Dago cats. Shit we can do cool with it on our own, plus from my website with paypal, all my mail orders from out town and overseas, out the trunk sellin' in Dago and out of Dago, and Fam Mart it's going to get around a lot, and expose a lot of people from here that my fans haven't heard from.

Holla at you at the Bam this weekend or somethin' Janky. 1

sounds like the real key is for us in Dago to blow up our artists first like New Orleans did with Ca$h Money....so the thing is...how do us fans get the word out to the niggaz that dont know about the local rap scene aka whiteboys that are scared to head down to Federal....i mean i let my family down south listen to my Dago CDs and they be bumping that shit on the Beach in Pensacola on the regular...we need to unite and get our shit big...i aint in the rap game at all nor do i want to be..but you got a lot of talented brothas out here making hits and they aint getting anywhere near the paper that they should be getting basically cuz not enough people know that they are out there

yall should put some of these indie SD albums up on CDbaby.com or CDstreet.com, they don't care what the album is like, the don't care if u got features or none of that shit, they hella cool about shit, u pay a one time set up fee for the album, they scan the artwork, and build u a page with samples of the songs and u can put up a detailed bio and all that, soon as u hit $20 worth of sales, u get a check, u can set it to get paid each week, or whenever u want, them spots is hella nice, they cool for Indies, u aint gotta have no barcode or nothin

First good lookin' on the info C-4. I didn't know about that shit.

Wallnutz, you made some good points. Dago needs to blow up our artists, and I've noticed (especially from the love I've received) that Dago is finally starting to get proud of our artists. That's what has to happen first, they have to have somebody they can brag about and have confidence in, and I see that really starting to happen. Just the love I get when I go to the malls, or during the superbowl week, or at in stores, it's almost all love.

And as far as reachin' another crowd that doesn't wanna go down federal, well you have to go to them then. That's what I do. I just had an in store at Mr. Rags at Fashion Valley mall and received a lot of love. It was during the superbowl weekend so most of the cd's we sold were from tourists, but most of the people from San Diego (mostly white, and some mexican. as a matter of fact this white girl had me sign her titties) had my cd. We sell cd's in Fashion Valley mall, Parkway Plaza in El Cajon, Carlsbad Mall, North County Fair, Plaza Bonita, San Diego State everywhere... Niggaz gotta realize that Dago is way bigger than Southeast. That's a very small portion of sells. So instead of them coming to us, we have to go to them. And when I was at the in store in Fashion Valley I asked 4 people have the heard of the New West comp, cuz I was going to tell them the song I had on there, and none of them had ever even heard of it.

At my Ghetto World picnic last year I had all races, and people all the way from Poway to El Cajon. But like you said we have some hits out here, and we're not gettin' near the paper or exposure that we should, but that's how the game is right now. We just can't stop until it pops. I know Ghetto World ain't gon' stop. And I hope everybody from Dago that drops an album does good. Keep supportin' us though ya'll. We'll get there. 1

Thanks Grant. It makes me feel good as hell when I hear shit like this.

@Rocc, I feel you my nigga. You know why I can't stay on the road, this dam federal parole. But I travel as much as I can, and when I do travel we do the damn thang. I did the show in KC in August with E-40, Khia, Lil Flip, Tech and Messy and some more folks, and while we was out there we sold 40 cd's (that's on my son). And shit, it was a FEW people in the audience that already had my shit. We've had two shows in the Bay last year (first time sold 33, last time sold 23. That's on my son). We've been to Vegas twice this year (in July sold 45 cd's, that's on my son), and the last time was at the Magic show. I know them little 40 and 30 sells don't sound like much, but believe me it adds up at $10 per cd, and doin' that consistently for over a year, that's how the word spreads about me cuz if I sold 40 cd's in one city in 2 days, that means triple that many people are going to hear it from the people that bought it, so on my next shit the people that bought it from me directly we'll go in the store and get it when if I would've never approached them they would've never knew about me. Those are just the out of town trips. I'm still doin' 10's and shit out here after my album has been out for 17 months, when it's ran it's course in the stores already. Just like at my in store signing at Mr. Rags in Fashion valley last Sat. Shit, and in the summer I kill em' at the beach. I'm out there 2 to 3 times a week sellin' cd's and the good thing about Dago, is that it's a tourist city, and people from out town come to us (just like the superbowl). I sell A LOT of cd's to people from Arizona, Portland, Seattle etc during the summer. Then they have an out of state basketball tournament every year after Christmas, starting on the 27th or somethin', and we post up at the Double tree, and Marriot in mission valley, and sell to all the high schoolers from out of town. Again Portland, Seattle etc. We've been doin' that for 4 years. A few people on this board met me like that. We've been to LA a couple of times last year too, so I do all I can, even though I ALWAYS feel I'm not doin' enough.

And since I can't get my super travel I really smash on Dago real hard. From O-Side to El Cajon, and everywhere in between. I mean I put in work out here homey. I've sold a gang of units! I mean I'm tryna' get my hometown behind me first, and then branch out. Then I got homies I was in the feds with that's sellin' cd's for me out of town (Oklahoma City, Arkansas etc), that's not countin' all the mail orders and paypal I get. But as far as Dago, and this is on my only son, I can't go damn near anywhere now and don't get recognized by FANS. I was in Plaza bonita yesterday and a lot of people recognized me and had me signin' autographs (I swear on my son this is the truth, and this happens a lot!). This was just walkin' through the mall passin' out flyers. Went to Mission valley mall, and EVERYBODY (blac, white, mexican, asian) that I gave a flyer to knew me, and heard or had my album. Same thing happened at the super bowl. I'm off of paper next year, so I'm going to travel more, but believe me I feel you homey.

As far as disty, I never DEPEND on it, cuz I press up my own units with my own money and sell a lot of my own cd's. I got some cool chips off of my two albums homey. Niggaz would be surprised (I'm ridin' on stocc and got my paper than niggaz on rims...) I'm out here grindin' homey. I never count on the money I get from them as my only money. I make my own money with the cd's I press up. That's my recoup and profit, and whatever I get from disty is like an added plus. I know doin' it this way I don't get the proper sells credit as far as scans, and that's going to make it hard to get a real deal, but nowadays the people that are gettin' deals didn't have big scan numbers or NO scan numbers (50 Cent, Nelly, even Eminem before Dre). Majors know now that soundscan can be bought (shit they started that game), so they don't really give deals soley based on that now, especially if you have a tremendous amout of indie retail scans, and very few chain store scans. They know somethin' is fishy.

Basically, what I'm sayin' is I don't have the answer cuz I'm still not completely nationally known, but I'm willing to take advice from anybody who knows, and is in the game like you my nigga. I plan on traveling more this year, and next year. But since some of us aren't in your position to travel, by you doin' it, it's helpin' Dago as a whole, cuz you're reppin' it wherever you go. And personally I appreciate everything you're doin' for Dago on the rap game homey. Much love my nigg.

4 sho I-rocc... you hit the road like no other, and that's what it's all about. The fans aren't always gonna just fall into your lap and you have to bring them something so they remember and anticipate your release. I respect how you're always out getting yours working harder than the next man and that is why you will succeed. I would travel with you to any shows and help promote and soak game depending on my school sched... plus you know I got State.. I'ma hit you on the pm
