SAN FRANCISCO (AP) ― A crew member on a 900-foot container ship making its way through the San Francisco Bay fell overboard and died.
The Coast Guard says the man, who has not been identified, was pulled from the water Thursday morning.
His cause of death and how he fell from the ship are being investigated.
Coast Guard spokesman Jeremy Pichette says rescue teams were sent to the area where he fell near the Bay Bridge and a pilot vessel found the man two feet under water with no personal flotation device.
