I have a lot of experience selling on Craigslist/eBay, so I am aware of all the scams with people asking you to ship something to Nigeria for 4 times what you're asking for it. They usually want you to send it before you get your money, etc.

I put up my unlocked iPhone last night and I have a guy who wants me to ship it to Africa (lol). Obviously sounds too good to be true, but the thing is he's paying with PayPal. So I'd have the $$$ up front and could wait for it to clear (if not immediately) to ship. PayPal protects the seller very well, and I have a PayPal debit card so I could withdraw the money ASAP.

Is there a downside to this? Any PayPal scams? Or could this actually be legit lol

you can also be scammed through pay pal. he can send you the money and then once u send the iphone he has like 24 hours or something to take the money back and say he was hacked, he can say he never meant to transfer money and shit. ive seen that shit before so no i dont think its a good idea. have the money sit in your pay pal account for a week and if there hasnt been a problem then he might be legit. ask for his information, ID and all kinds of shit.

People get fucked off Paypal all the time. There was a few times Paypal wouldn't refund me when I got scammed for shoes. I always had to go through my bank.

The attempted craigslist scams are getting ridiculous. I've been trying to sell a $2000 Tag Heuer watch now for 3 weeks for $800. All I get is the email saying "Is this item still available" I reply with yes but it must be cash. Then I get the I'm so sorry I can't meet you I live in Hawaii or some shit but I'll give you $1200 via direct pay or paypal or about 8 other methods.

Edit: Anyone in the Seattle area trying to buy a watch?

the thing about paypal, you can sell say ^^ your watch for 800$ then get a charge back from that user for 800$ a day later and sometimes paypal will do nuthing so they might get the watch for free..or it coud be someone hacked another account and wants to use it quickly to buy sum shit

My lil bro's best friend just got arrested for robbing people off Craig's List. They would put up bogus ads of bullshit, and set up potential customers for the stick up. Lil bastard made the local news and everything. The news people called him the "Craigs List Bandit"...roflmao

Some stupid sumbitch in Vallejo met a guy last weekend in the South at 11pm to sell him a laptop. Needless to say, he got robbed.

Hubby wanted to buy some rims from Craigslist, and talked to the dude, who said he lived in Emeryville. When he gave Age the directions to his house, it turned out he was in East Oakland. We took a couple of his cousins with us to go meet dude, and everything turned out legit. I guess dude was kinda scared to tell people he lived in the ESO, because who would really wanna go to east oakland to meet a stranger?

PayPal has a few loopholes that doesn't make it perfect for selling.

The best way to accept a payment through mail is a United States Postal Money Order. Once you receive that, take it to the post office and they will cash it there.
Then you can ship out.
