Is it usual for people to send yo e-mails that they are interested in what you're selling and want to come by and check it out? I have never used it before, so I dont know the ropes. I know one of of the advisories on their site is "meet in a public place". I can just see it now...I say yes and some weirdo comes over and robs me blind.

It's normal for people to email you back to ask questions about what you're selling. For the most part the people that come by are serious about buying...but I would meet in a public place if it's something valuable or you just don't want people coming in your house checking out all the shit you got though.

Internet deal goes wrong, ends in carjacking
Times-Herald staff report
Posted: 03/31/2010 01:02:00 AM PDT

A sale of speakers arranged through Craigslist, an Internet site, went wrong after two men allegedly stole the victims' money and a Chevy S10 pick-up trucktruck, Vallejo Police Sgt. Kenny Park said Tuesday.

The incident occurred 10:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits, 1601 Marine World Parkway, near Sonoma Boulevard.

When two adult men arrived in the lot, two armed men approached them, forced them to the ground and drove off with money and the truck, Park said.

Moral of the story: Don't arrange to meet anyone in the ghetto after dark!

i tell people just use common sense, don't bring a gangload of money if your meeting someone to buy something like a car lol, if it's something worth a lot have a few friends or family around or defense, have a cellphone close by, man 95 percent of the time its gonna be legit but if ya spidey sense is tingling just bounce.
