I recently got a new system an it has Windows XP. My last systemn had Windows 98. I use to be able to Record my old tapes/wax to cd using a connection from stereo to cpu. I hooked it up in the same way with my new CPU and it dont work. Any ideas of how to fix this besides hooking up my old cpu again?

What kind of sound card are you running in your new system. You may have the "LINE IN" muted. Open your control panel, Click on Sounds and Audio devices, Click the volume tab, then click the advanced button in the device volume section. Then look and see if the line in section has a check mark in it. If so uncheck it.
