Identify cars. Be able to tell if the cars are moving. Watch the stop lights. Avoid other pedestrians. Stepping up and off the curb. etc.....

Well a computer that walks up stairs only has to know the heighth, the number of steps and how to move its legs. It doesnt have that many things to watch out for and the danger of traffic. Weather its Dell or something else running it, i dont think it could cross a street yet.
