So if I have a drive that plays DVD's and burns cd's, does that mean I have a DVD burner or what?
Yes thats possible BUT it would take like 3 CD-Rs and they won't play in most DVD players.

OK, I just got a burner the other day... Ive only burned one movie, the reason is all the other movies I want to burn are bigger than 4.7 gigs (standard size of a blank DVD)... how can I remedy this? Do I have to cut the disc in half and burn the data on 2 blank discs?

The easiest and best software is DVD Shrink.
Did I mention it was free????

The compression quality is much better than DVDXCopy Express. Avoid that shit like the plague. That shit gives you bad video quality....
DVD Shrink gives you the option of how much compression you want to use and so on. It creates a bunch DVD files and you need to throw them in a folder. You then name the folder "VIDEO_TS" and create an empty folder named "AUDIO_TS" then you burn these 2 folders and you have your dvd.

My preffered method is to rip the movie using the free software "SmartRipper" and then simply burning the movie using the same folders above. That is if the movie can fit in one disk. If not then I use "DVD2One" to shrink the movie into one disk. All you get is the main movie though, with one soundtrack only but this will give you the best picture possible.
That's my method but you guys can use DVD Shrink if you like, it's great software....

Revol, you know what program copies the whole DVD with special feats? I got DVD X-Copy Express and it only copys the movie part? Let me know.
You can use DVDXCopy but you will have to split the movie into 2 disks. Which sux big time.
Or you can use DVD Shrink to keep everything and it will shrink the movie for you as well.

You know what I do though to keep the best possible picture?
I burn only the main movie on one disk, and then burn all the special features and menus minus the main movie in another disk. This method works like making your own bonus disk ya know?

Just giving you advice, works for me, might work for you....

Thanx for the insight Miggity... I just used DVD Shrink and it works like a charm. I was able to fit the whole damn dual layer 9 gigs onto one disc with no real drastic quality reduction in the picture. Good lookin out.

yea dvd shrink is what i use for movies...theres a re-author mode in it so you can pick only what you want...most of the ones i burn i jus burn the movie only to have full quality, cuz the more shit you keep on the movies bigger than 4.7 the less quality you get on the main movie...and they jus released a new version 3.1.4 i think it's a little faster i've had no troubles with it...then jus burn the files in nero

for ps2 games dvd decrypter or alcohol 120% is key
