APD Investigation Continues After Officer Who Shot 19-Year-Old Claimed Third Body Camera Error
During his camera’s latest malfunction in April 2014, Dear shot a 19-year-old woman who was on the run after being suspected of driving a stolen truck.
Dear shot and killed Mary Hawkes on April 21st of this year after pursuing her her on foot. Hawkes had allegedly abandoned the stolen truck and was fleeing from police when she was confronted by Dear before he shot her three times.
In Hawkes’ autopsy report it was found that all three shots were fired from a downward trajectory. The Office of the Medical Examiner’s report also stated that Hawkes suffered “seven blunt-force injuries” on her body “including on each knee, the top of her forehead, each forearm, her chest and back of her right hand.”
Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden said that there was “preliminary evidence” that suggested she may have pulled a out a handgun and pointed it at Dear. Eden said that a .32 caliber semiautomatic handgun was found near Hawkes’ body.

If you were paying attention, you would have seen that the footage is edited, meaning what Mr. Officer said before accosting the victim was deleted. An educated guess would lead common sense to suspect it was of racial nature, considering how he treated Professor Ore. Other people were jaywalking and not one officer did a goddamn thing to any of the other people in the video. Why not? America is dipped in racism, like it or not. It's not the only place in the world with this issue, but it is where the incident took place and what occurred during it.

2. Even if he wasn't breaking the law, he was still suspected of a felony and was being placed under arrest for investigative purposes. You don't protest, you do what you're told and tell it to the detectives or the judge. Thats our legal system, deal with it.
3. He immediately began to resist arrest by throwing his arms up and saying he didn't do anything and backing away. Cops are trained to subdue at that point.
4. Instead of going to the ground, he continued fighting.
5. The cameraman was instigating an already bad problem and likely contributed to the rapid escalation of the event
6. He still wouldn't put his hamburger shovels behind his back
7. He is a walking heart attack / stroke and also has severe asthma.

Fuck the SJPD!!!! Fuck er tried to pull me over because I shook my head at him while he ran a stop sign in a parking lot.
