HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Coolio was arrested Tuesday morning in Hollywood for allegedly driving on a suspended license, police said.
The 44-year-old rapper and actor, whose real name is Artis Ivey Jr., was taken into custody about 1:45 a.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Sweetzer Avenue, where officers stopped the 1996 Hummer he was driving because it had expired plates, said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department.
He was booked at the Parker Center jail on the misdemeanor, and was released on $10,000 bail about 6:45 a.m., French said.
Coolio rose to fame in 1995 with the hit "Gangsta's Paradise."
