Havana, Aug 9 (Prensa Latina) The convictions of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in US prisons since 1998 were reversed Tuesday by three judges from the Atlanta Appeal Court, and they have been remanded for a new trial on a date yet to be determined.

Since March 10, 2004, the three US magistrates assigned by the Atlanta Appeal Court"s 11th Circuit to revise the case of Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez.have been wading through mountains of documents, and their decision to reverse the convictions was unanimous.
The Cuban Five were arrested in September 1998, and after 17 months in solitary confinement, subjected to trial plagued by irregularities in the city of Miami.
The sentences reversed on Tuesday release Gerardo from double life imprisonment and 15 years, Ramon and Antonio, life imprisonment, plus 18 years (Ramon) and 10 years (Antonio), Fernando, 19 years of prison, and Rene, 15 years.
