converting MIDI files...

how do i convert MIDI files to wav or mp3 format using Cubase SX...

You've gotta have a synth. Send the midi tracks to your synths and then record it to an audio track in Cubase.

A keyboard, which you have midi cables hooked up to a midi interface which is usually connected to your computer via USB.
All MIDI does is transmit and recieve messages, that tell your synth what notes to play, when to play them. You can sequence your song in Cubase. But in order to convert it into audio. you must plug the audio output of your synth to the audio inputs on your computer.

i have my keyboard hooked up to the midi/joystick port on my computer...is it posible for me to convert everything to audio wit this type of connection...

You have to have audio in on your comp. or the MIDI port.
You may have to get an audio interface

On my computer I can just record the sound that's playing into a new track, I don't know if all soundcards have that, but it's something you can select on the audio mixer utility that controls your volumes in windows. All I gotta do is just open a new track, and hit record, then it'll record everything playing back into the new track
