The Conscious Daughters are undisputedly one of the most prominent female rap duos in music. Most known as the Bay Area’s hottest female group, the Daughters (CMG & Special One) have sold over 700,000 records worldwide.
They exploded on the scene with “Fonky Expedition”, which officially put CMG and The Special One on the map, with their debut album, "Ear to the Street" selling over 300,000 copies and yielding a cross-country tour. With three singles and three videos from that project, The Conscious Daughters had finally gained national recognition.

Their second effort, Gamers was released and sold over 200,000 copies, entering the Billboard Chart with a bullet. By continuing to bring bangin’ beats to the streets, TCD once again rocked the world with their female baller anthems.

Now, The Conscious Daughters again are poised to bring heat with their third effort, The Nutcracker Suite. Featuring themes of self-empowerment and sisterhood with a hardcore edge, The Conscious Daughters continue to prove that they have their collective thumb on the pulse of the street. With production by the Bay Area’s hottest producers, Paris, Rick Rock and Steven King, The Nutcracker Suite is packed with head-noddin’ beats that compliment TCDs in-your-face style of rhyming.

A necessary compliment to women, this crew of female MCs provides a sorely-needed female perspective in hip-hop that rarely gets the attention it deserves.

That sounds tight and I'm glad to hear they're still messin' with Paris.

I always felt his work on "Ear to the Street" was awesome and represented the best of his work, even better than what he did on his own sefl-produced albums.

I always wondered why he didn't do a lot more outside production in those days, but I guess he wanted to keep it all in-label.

I heard he had signed MC Ren a couple of years ago, is Paris still doing a new Ren album. I also thought I had heard he was gonna do an album for Kam.
Anyone?

That album he did for PE awhile back was a bit uneven but had a couple of real hot ones on it.

Anyway, that new TCD sounds like it has potential, having Paris AND Rick Rock in there sounds like the move too. Never heard of the other producer, is he good?

I remember these ladies from the mid 90's. I forgot all bout them until this thread. The Concious Daughters and The Ghetto Twinz was the two hardest female duos ever in teh 90's. Salt and Pepa was still my top favorite lady group back then though bc i was memerized by pepa's breasts. .
