I've tried the search function, and I've searched google, but I can't find anything on this set up.

Can someone please help me with this. I'd like to use the presonus mixer for the 8 outs from the MPC if possible.

Mainly I just want to record my midi tracks through pro tools using the mbox. I seem to have a midi signal and pro tools plays it, however I don't hear it. Any advice? Right now I'm running two TRS outs from the triton to the TRS ins in the Mbox.

Thanks.

Your information is too vague. What presonus interface are you using? If it has an adat and the presonus has an adat input you'll be fine.

Again, you are vague. PT LE 6.1 differs from 7-7.3 due to midi and the new instrument tracks. Do you want to record the midi as data (allowing you to move the notes around in pro tools), or do you simply want to use midi to sync everything up and track the midi as audio?

As stated before you are being vague. How do you have your setup configured?

see above.

I am using the Presonus Firepod. I know that by using the 8 outs in the MPC one can control the levels using a mixer. It just so happens that the presonus firepod has 8 ins. What I DON'T know is how this all fits into my setup as far as connecting.

I'm running PT LE 6.7. For the time being I would like to use midi to sync everything and track out to audio like you specified.

I currently have it confirgued:

Triton midi in to command 8 out
triton midi out to command 8 in
triton thru to mpc in
triton audio out (L,R) to mbox TRS Inserts

Run the 8 audio outs of the mpc into the firepod. Run the firepod into the computer via spdif or firewire. In addition, you can also use the midi in and out and run your mpc to that, but the problem is getting the firepod signals into the mbox. The only way I can see this happening is if you used adat/toslink (which the firepod doesn't have) or syncing the devices at 44k or 48k via spdif, but that would only get you one stereo signal and not 8 mono.

I'm running PT LE 6.7. For the time being I would like to use midi to sync everything and track out to audio like you specified.
Go to Pro Tools and select MIDI - INPUT DEVICES or MIDI BEAT CLOCK. You should see the mbox midi ports. Make sure they are checked. After this you need to make sure the tempos on ALL devices you wish to sync are the same. So if the tempo is 86, you need to set that on the triton, mpc and pro tools. After that, you need to go into each device and make sure they are set to the appropriate sync mode (slave) or set the sync to MIDI. Once you have it setup correctly, you can press play in pro tools and everything else will play back. MAKE SURE THE PLAYBACK ENGINE is set to 128 or 64 samples or else you may experience latency.

I currently have it confirgued:

Triton midi in to command 8 out
triton midi out to command 8 in
triton thru to mpc in
triton audio out (L,R) to mbox TRS Inserts
Now see if you can connect the firepod or the mpc to the mbox via spdif.

do u make a living with music
I still get money from publishing. Still get money to mix.

or working with the technical side
The technical aspect has kept me fed and payed for my college so far. I'm majoring in criminal justice and also computer forensics. I have a passion for music, but I'm using it to get me to another place in life.

cuz u really know what u talking about when it comes to this stuff, like a professional
Well actually I owe the credit to God and to people that were placed in my life that were willing to teach me things. Thats why I try to help out here, because I was green just like everyone else, and I wouldn't stop the next person from trying to achieve their dreams.
