Michael Ruppert said somehthing in one of his videos (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8797525979024486145&q=michael+ruppert) that made me think of this question! If a cop arrests you and you are convicted for whatever, and this same cop owns stock in certain prisons. Do you think you could beat the case due to conflict of intrest? Ruppert said that Wackenut's stock is publicly traded and the price of it's stock depends on how many inmates it is housing at any given time. What do you think? I think a good lawyer could pull this off.

Hell yeah that's a major loophole. I'd be interested to see someone actually try to fight this. My guess is that if you commit a felony and try to bring the cops' credibility into account as an excuse for why you were arrested, it would really depend on the type of judge (or jury) that you pleaded your case to, but like you said, a good lawyer could pull it off.

My guess is that after this case was tried once, they would automatically restrict police officers from having stock in jails. So it would probably only work once, if at all.
