I did discuss but...

If you arent fairly computer literate (some people dont even know how to find files on their copmputer), you may end up deleting shit you wanna keep.

What if, for example, he needs to re-install NIC drivers to get online or the right sound card drivers to get sound?

I dunno...im just saying he should have someone who knows a lil about comps help him out

lol at everyone encouraging this rookie to wipe his drive becuase it rebooted slow. THis is not the answer. Thats like replacing your car engine when it only needs a minor tune up. It could create more issues for dude, such as missing drivers, missing apps, not backing up music videos etc...

Here is what he should really do.

1. Run Spybot Search and Destroy
2. Run Lavasoft Ad-Aware
3. Install Mike Lyn's Startup Control Panel
4. Run Trendmicro Free Online Virus Scan
5. Defrag Hard Drive.
6. Remove any ToolBars, Web Search programs, or suspicous apps in Add/Remove Programs list.
7. Reboot
