How do I play mpg files in my internet window? I use to be able to click the link with the mouse wheel and it would open a new tab and play the video in their. But now I downloaded the code pack to play AVI files and that messed it up so know it opens in Windows Media Player. If you don't know what I mean it's the same with a mp3 file link, I'll click it and it opens like this:

or uninstall the extension, they usually give me preblems too

you have to change what extension to use mpg with. its fairly simple, although I'm not exactly sure what to press on windows. its the "preferences" on a mac....try properties....

Yeah I changed the file types prefrence in Windows Media but it still opens in it.

check the "helper applications" and make sure windows media isn't selected to run it

thats because its quicktime that plays mpg in web window, so download it and install it.
if its already installed, check to see if it is the default media player and not windows media player.
but of course , i think quicktime sucks, so once you do set it as default make sure mpg is the only extension that you set to be played

change file associations to which player it's default assigned to
