pop ups are killing me.

I use : norton system works
adaware
spybot search and destroy

i found these to work well, but it is not cleaning everything off. what other programs do you guys use that would supplement my current programs. looking for free downloads and programs that are highly reccommended and are not copies/redundant from the programs i use currently

I dont know if you have spyware blaster, but you can get it from www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html. Use this to help prevent spyware from installing on your computer in the first place. Also, use Firefox if you want more security.

There is also Spyware Guard made from the same people as spyware blaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html. It is basically like a real time spyware system protection. Like how antivirus guards pop up whenever you are infected, this pretty much does the same thing, but for spyware.

Make sure you've updated the reference file in Ad-Aware. Just hit the GLOBE on the main window, and check for updates and install the newest reference file. Then restart into safe mode and run a scan.

Free pop-up software: http://www.download.com/Pop-up-Manager/3000-7786-10189471.html?tag=lst-0-1

Pop Up Manager // Right click it in the bottom left corner, get into the options or settings, and one of the tabs has an option that says you PAID for it already.

When your O/S is starting up(when the little bar races across the bottom of your screen) press F8...itll ask you how you wanna start it...choose the first choice...which is "Safe Mode"...itll take longer to load up...

And you cant run Norton in Safe Mode...

Use Mozilla Firefox for a browser. Got a popup blocker built in and you aint gotta ad more spyware by installing a free program. Yeah it dont make sense but Firefox is a free program, but it aint got shit on it. Its the only browzer I use. But if you really want to stop all that shit, once you do a virus scan, run ad-aware and spybot, hard to do, but quit the porno sites. And you can't say it aint that. Trust me, I'm a certified tech and I get systems in every day with nuthin but porn in the bookmarks, and they dont know why they get flooded with popups.
