if im going to rec my vocals at home and bring um to a engineer to mix, i need to present him with raw vocals and RAW VOCALS only right ? cuzz i was thinking of getting this compressor but that wont be any help if im taking the tracs in right ?

Bring the tracks to him raw. Make sure they aren't clipping heavily, but that their volume isn't too quiet either (low signal to noise ratio). Then soak up some knowledge from the engineer. Ask him questions until he is so annoyed with you that you have to sit outside while he finished the track...
