I notice that there is a huge increase in shows this year compared to past years. It seemed to me in the past, that a lot of artist wouldn't come any further south than Los Angeles. E-40 and them, Ice Cube, Kurupt . Not mention Our own local Artist doing shows, and it's not even summer time yet. Seems like all the chips are falling in the right place at the right time. There is more action than words. Artists actually coming together instead of running off at the mouth. Beefs have subsided to almost non exsistent, well, at least on wax and public view. You got two nice spots in Dago competing with each other The House of Blues and 4TH & B, which means better shows for us. You got two radio stations competing HEAVILY against each other Z-90 vs. 98.9 FM , which means better music on the radio (sometimes). More times than not, it's 98.9 and Bobby Locco comin with the heat on the air with shows like, WestCoast Wednesdays, giving the local artist a chance to shine on Sundays as well as the Latin talent. In the middle of the day at that. The fans have been fans and have kept the b.s to minimum. Yeah there will be scuffles , arguments and possibly a fight or two. But nothing to the magnitude of shooting and having the spots shut down, and putting future shows in danger. My point is this. We are gaining the reputation of a true HIP-HOP town, and people are starting to recognize San Diego's extreme value in the music industry. About time!

What's your opinion on the Dago music scene?

ill be at all of them....and since the E 40 show is sold out here yall can head down to rosarito this weekend and see him....plus last week was game...mack 10 a week before i think...even lil eazy....man this area has had mad shows...Ill be at Ecays show too...its tight how theres been so much west coast love on the radio...Quiks show was tight the last $hort show was a little short(no pun intended) but its getting really dope here and im glad 98.9 is doing what they are doing for the local scene...z90 has restraints cuz of there parent company but 98.9 is bringing a good mix of the commercial stuff that helps them sell advertising and the regional stuff for the real rap fans
