coming in the rap game

Coming up in the rap game? That's sort of vague....exactly what position are your boys in right now? Do you have material already completed and pressed up? Do you have promotional material? What is the direction the group wants to go in? Stay underground or go mainstream? Are you going to advertise heavily or let it be word of mouth? Do you want to get a distributor for your product or sell it out the trunk? You obviously have to have some kind of idea of what direction this group is suppose to go and goals you have set for the future...you got the choice of putting it out and funding it yourself or you can get people to invest in your project or get a loan from the bank....skies the limit in the rap game....I'm no artist...jus someone who used to be around the "rap game" way back when...=)
The problem wit rap today is artist trying to "come-up" insteed of making quality music that moves people...that is how the Bay got into this funky ass state we are in right now, niggas makin all of them bullshit comps...Bay Side puttin out any rappa wit some Funky Fat Graphix and at least 20 songs on they shit...I ain't sayin don't get ya paper on, but I will say that if you do it the right way and value what talent you have, the money will come...atleast that's how I see it.
make sure you don't get fucked over.....by anyone....cats are making money off milking peeps dreams or what have you, make sure whoever you mess with as far as beats, verses,printing, graphix, mastering, all that, is straight. take it seriously and the game will take you seriously
