What term of phrase do you use to describe Non-White People?

I usually say People of Color, but Colored People has always sounded like the right one. Although, as a Brown-skinned man, it is certainly more acceptable for me to use Colored People than it would be for a White Man like 2-0-Sixx to use it.

In Sierra Leone, i hear they call all Non-Sierra Leonese people "Portu!" (From Portuguese, obviously.) We need a word like that.

The man was correct. I am half white. It is a wonderful feeling to wake up every day, and realize that i have this splendid White genetic material flowing through my veins. Sometimes, I am so proud of being half white that I openly weep. But this is another topic entirely.

'Colored' is definitely bad. 'Colored people' is not so bad...sometimes. If you say, "I know a lot of colored people", thats not going to be good. People of Color is better than both, but is a bit lofty. Minorities...I just don't like it because other people like it. Easy as that. Its a Neo-Hippie type of word. You can't be a Rebel and PC, and there is no real balance between the two.....so find a new word and quit bitching.

Colored I would agree is bad. Colored people, I would say is pretty close to that, but I'm white so I can't really say how someone would feel or react to it being a "person of color." I usually just call people by their FIRST NAME. And if people ask about nationality I then proceed to say exactly, not just, "oh he's a person of color..." I think catagorizing people is fucking stupid though.

Yeah! However, if lets say, all non-pasty beings on this planet had one, or possibly three legs we might find such terms usefull. But while we all tread this soil with our measly pair, we might as well put these so called "first names" to use.

It'd be a tie, depending on whether the bag was recycled or not.

Categorizing people is the only way to go. Its especially funny when you use words like "Oriental" instead of `Asian', and akward pauses follow.

There is a middle ground between Slur and PC, people. Find it. Enjoy it.

We don't always know names, friend. When you're out in the real world, talking to real people, sometimes it is necessary to refer to groups of people by something other than each individual name.

That you would be so sensitive about this.....you're probably racist yourself. Or your Father is a hardcore racist and you hate him and don't ever want someone to say you're just like him. Some kind of dumbass shit like that.
