Louisville at #7 West Virginia
WVU has snuck back into the NC picture after their loss to now unranked USF. White and Slaton are two quiet but very good players that make this offense churn. They need to keep pace with UConn in order to set up a game in which they could beat the Huskies and win the Big East. Of course, this is assuming UConn gets there intact.
#12 Michigan at Wisconsin
Michigan has reeled off 7 straight wins after being embarrassed on the first game of the season. If they win out, the mach up between OSU and UM would be monumental in shaping the NC game, of course, assuming OSU wins out.
Wake Forest at #21 Clemson
Clemson has crept back into the top 25, but they have done so very quietly. The combo of Spiller and Davis has been anything but great, even though the potential is there. WF comes off a loss and looks to stop these two and somehow contain Harper as well.
Indiana at Northwestern
One of these teams will become bowl eligible this week, as Indiana started off great and has tailed off, as NW started of slow and is picking up speed. IN a year when the Big 10 is “down”, these two teams have been pleasant surprises.
North Carolina at North Carolina State
This is a rivalry game, but not much else. Both teams are sitting in the lower tier of the ACC, although UNC has looked better this year and have some promising young players to look forward to in coming years, namely the freshman QB Yates.
Texas A&M at #6 Missouri
Mizzou is climbing the BCS standings and looking to knock out Kansas for the top spot in the North. However, they have to get past a struggling A&M team first. Chase Daniels looks to perfect his game, as he will need it all against Kansas.
Illinois at #1 Ohio State
Although young, Illinois is still a very dangerous team this year, and OSU cannot take them lightly. As the match up of the OSU/UM game looms in everyone’s sights, OSU and UM need to take care of business fist before the clash in 3 weeks.
Florida State at #11 Virginia Tech
FSU comes off their second win over a top 25 team this year when they knocked off BC from the 2nd spot in the BCS rankings. Now, they look to give VT fits, something they have done many times in the past. Weatherford played arguably his best game ever as a Nole and the defense stood stern as they methodically knocked off BC. They will need all that to beat a very good defensive team in VT, anchored by Adibi and young DE Ellis.
#13 Connecticut at Cincinnati
Perhaps the most surprising team of the year, UConn is near the top ten and looking to fit in there if they can knock off a very solid Cincy squad.
#19 Virginia at Miami (FL)
The other surprise team is UVA, who actually beat UConn by 1 point 2 weeks prior. Miami is having a very tough year, with a loss to lowly UNC and recently NCST. Miami will look to coral young Sewel and have hopes of a bowl game come December. UVA guns to stay atop the Coastal division and hold for the matchup with VT for what could be the deciding on who goes to the ACCCG.
#15 Florida at South Carolina
It’s always fun to see Spurrier match up against his old team. The SC Gamecocks, however, have had a rough season. Once in the top 10 in the AP, they now have lost 3 in a row in the roughest conference in the nation. Florida is one of two 3 loss teams in the top 25 (both from the SEC) and look to inch closer to a possible-but-not-likely BCS birth.
#17 USC at California
The battle of Nor Cal and So Cal, these two struggling teams go head to head in what usually has more implications. USC is 3rd in the Pac-10, and Cal has faded from the #2 spot in the AP at one point. None the less, the trash talking will be loud and the battle intense as these two Pac-10 powerhouses lock horns for what is sure to be a slobber knocker.
Fresno State at #16 Hawaii
All Hawaii needs to do is just win. If we learned anything from Boise St, its that BCS games CAN be granted to non-BCS conference teams. FSU is a tough team but playing in Hawaii usually gives the Warriors the upper hand.
GAME OF THE WEEK
#18 Auburn at #10 Georgia
Georgia is atop the West, and Auburn is looking up at a tie-break leading LSU team in the West. Although the Tigers chances of making it to the SEC CG are bleak, they cal still inch closer to a top 10 BCS finish by taking out a young and wily Georgia team.
