Here we go with Rivalry Week #2...no "GAMES OF THE WEEK" due to rivalry games all being fun to watch. Only two games have impacts on the conferences, both from non-AQ conferences.
No. 3 Texas at Texas A&M
One of the many sports in the "Lone Star Showdown" in which each team is awarded a point for every meeting win when matched up.
Temple at Ohio
Not a rivalry game, but the winner goes on to face CMU in the MAC Championship game next week.
Wyoming at Colorado State
A border war in which is Wyoming wins, will be bowl eligible. CSU has lost 7 games in a row and look to end that in its 96th meeting. CSU leads the rivalry 55-40, including 7 since 2000. They play for the Bronze Boot.
No. 2 Alabama at Auburn
Names the Iron Bowl, this instate rivalry is FIERCE. Alabama leads the series, but not by much (39-33-1). Alabama could lost some position in the BCS with a loss and a win against UF. Auburn was won 7 of the last 9 meetings, although Alabama skunked them last year 35-0.
Nebraska at Colorado
UN leads the series 47-18-1.
No. 9 Pittsburgh at West Virginia
The Backyard Brawl is the name of this clash of Big East foes. Pitt is still in the race for the conference title, if they can get past WVU and beat Cincy next week. The all time series is in the favor of Pitt, 61-37-3, but the last 10 meetings has been even at 5-5.
Nevada at No. 6 Boise State
Again, not a rivalry game, but winner takes the WAC championship. Nevada has won 7 in a row and BSU is perfect on the season.
No. 18 Clemson at South Carolina

In state rivalry dubbed the Egg Bowl and the winner receives the Egg Bowl Trophy. Ole Miss leads the series 60-39-5
No. 12 Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
The Bedlam series may be the most lopsided rivalry game in the nation, going 79-15-8 in favor of the Sooners.
Florida State at No. 1 Florida
The Battle for the Swamp, better known as the Battle for the Governor's Cup used to be a huge deal, but FSU's sagging program has put a damper on the series over the last few years. The best games in this series were played during the 90's when Florida was coming back onto the national scene as a powerhouse and FSU had held the spot for nearly a decade, going 7-3 (not including the Sugar Bowl in 97) in the 90's; Florida has owned the series 6-3 in the 00's, and look to be the victor once again this year. Bobby Bowden is an even .500 in the series.

In sate rivalry sporting the Commonwealth Cup, in which UVA has only one once this decade.
Arizona at Arizona State
The Duel In The Desert sports the oldest trophy in any rivalry...the Territorial Cup. The game has been going on since 1899, in which Arizona holds the edge 45-36-1.
Missouri vs. Kansas
Another border war that is played at Arrow Head stadium in Kansas City, MO. It is the second most played rivalry in college football and scores a disputed 54-54-9 all-time series record. The series has been renamed the Border Showdown and has actual sponsors when played.

Perhaps won of the most heated rivalries comes from this game, the Holy War. There is a lot more than just football going on here. Utah is state owned, and BYU is owned by the Mormons, which causes a lot of controversy between fan bases. The schools are less than an hour away. Utah leads the all-time series 53-33-4.
Washington State at Washington
The Apple Cup has long been a very important game between both schools, not matter how terrible either team was. It has been said that each team would not mind going 1-11, as long as they won this game. It has been very lackluster in the last few years, fueling some to dub it "The Crapple Cup". UW has been in a state of rebuild for 5 years, while WSU has fell from supremacy in the early 00's and is also rebuilding. UW hold s steady 64-31-6 lead in the series.
Tennessee at Kentucky
The Battle for the Beer Barrel is the award for this, although it is no official becuase of many of the kids being underage. Tennessee leads the series all time 72-23-9.
Georgia at No. 7 Georgia Tech
Greatest name of any CFB rivalry? Possibly, with a name like "Good, Old-Fashioned Hate", with the winner getting the Governor's Cup. This is a classic ACC/SEC hookup of instate rivals. The schools are separated by less than 70 miles and a whole bunch of rabid fans. UGA hold the edge 59-39-5.
Rice at No. 23 Houston
Yes, even a small school like Rice has a big rivalry game, this one to instate and conference foe Houston. Not only that, but the schools are only 5 miles apart, which makes it even more dividing. Housont has owned the series since its inception in 1971, 25-10. The winner gets the Bayou Bucket, which was introduced in 1974.
UCLA at No. 20 USC
The Battle for So Cal erupts yet again, as these two school lock up. They play for the Victory Bell, and also for recruits, respect, and bragging rights. It is one of the more notable rivalries in CFB, mainly because they are 12 miles apart.
