Kansas at Kansas State
This usually isn't more than a rivalry game, but KSU leads the Big-12 North at the moment and a win keeps them a step ahead of a inconsistent Nebraska team who hosts ailing Oklahoma.
Navy at No. 22 Notre Dame
ND keeps popping up in the BCS standings and if they win out, the media will surely give them a BCS look at the very least. However, Navy is no pushover. ND's run defense will be put to the ultimate test as Navy called no passing plays at all last week in a loss to rising Temple.
No. 8 Oregon at Stanford
Oregon has found their legs (pun intended) and is absolutely rolling. Stanford has been one of those much improved schools over the last 3 years and look to bring a physical aspect to try and slow done the spread option. Oregon better hope they aren't caught looking at Arizona or they just may trip up to a lesser opponent.
No. 16 Ohio State at No. 11 Penn State
Everyone talks about tOSU and Iowa, but seemed to have forgotten PSU in the Big 10 title mix. PSU doesn't get to play Iowa...but tOSU does. If tOSU can take out both foes, they could win the Big-10. However, if PSU wins this game, they will have to hope that tOSU can beat Iowa and possibly share the conference title.
Duke at North Carolina
More than a rivalry game this year, Duke is actually the 2nd in the Coastal conference, only trailing GT. With the ACC being as crazy as last year, anything can happen and its been known to happen this year. UNC is STILL in it with 3 losses (there have been three 5-3 division winners over the last 3 years). Thaddeus Lewis has been outstanding for the Blue Devils, boasting a 144 passing rating, with a 15/4 TD/INT ratio.
Oregon State at No. 20 California
Cal has managed to sneak back into the poll while OSU has lost some close games this year, and nearly lost some close ones as well. However, they played very well on offense against USC and look to spoil Cal's rise. Canfield has quietly been the best passer in the Pac-10 and the Rodgers brothers may be the best duo in the country on offense. Although Riley's numbers are good, he has struggled to lead his team to some key victories.
Florida State at Clemson
Much like UNC, FSU is STILL in the ACC race with 3 conference losses. The question will be whether the announcement of Mickey Andrew's retirement will be yet another sideline distraction for the Noles as they go up against a very stout defense in Clemson.
No. 12 USC at Arizona State
ASU is on the verge of going bowling, but there are gonna have to fend off a very pissed of Trojan team who got absolutely embarrassed in Eugene by giving up over 600 yards of offense. ASU;s defense is young but very fast and physical, including freshman Vontaze Burfict, who has been all over the field with a tenacious demeanor and will try and steal the spotlight from Taylor Mays.
No. 24 Oklahoma at Nebraska
Both of these teams seem to be struggling, but for different reasons. UN;s offense has been all over the place, while the defense has let them down in crucial times during some games. Oklahoma will be without some major players on offense and will hope to ride out the season without losing too much else.
GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 9 LSU at No. 3 Alabama
LSU has yet to be tested this year, and the once giant Alabama has recently looked vulnerable. It is clear that the SEC is finally showing that they aren't the juggernauts the media makes them out to be and if LSU can pull this off, will be in the driver seat to win the West and have a rematch with Tebow in company in the SECCG with only LT, Ole Miss, and Arkansas left on the schedule. If Alabama wins, they will have just an easy of a road to meet Florida.
