well.. to the layman its just electronic music, you have to be on drugs etc..
but after you get over the whole "techno shit" and realize you actually like the tunes.. you realize the dj is what draws you..

you go to events for the dj, not the music necessarily..
the music is the cherry on top if the dj is quality.

severe trainspotting and idolization

To each their own. I fuck with all kinds of music, but I have ALWAYS felt good Electronic music. And right now at the moment, Electronic music is very good. Musical technology is helping the genre evolve a lot, the sound is so much bigger sounding and not as corny, melody wise.

A lot of people think it's "GAY," but if you understand it musically, it's far from it. A lot of people base their judgements off hearing CORNY sounding "techno," like shit in video games, movies, commercials or shit with corny repetative hi-pitched melodies or annoying hi-pitched vocals and of course seeing homos dancing with glowsticks. "Techno" BTW is a sub-genre of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). There's Trance & House music that are typically the most popular and Techno is it's own style.

I just think you have to hear the quality shit to understand the scene and be around people that are mature. The real people out there that truely understand the scene ain't out there the majority of the time like all the kiddies in colorful clothes, glow sticking it, poppin pills left and right just to feel like their apart of something. Ask any of those kids about DJ's and they'll probably first mention "Tiesto." Not that he isn't a good DJ, but he's probably the most biggest and most obvious Trance DJ.

I don't have to be on drugs to like this shit. Faded yes to get really into it, but I still don't need it to feel and respect the music. It's kind of hard to explain the feelings I get with hearing some of the tunes. It's kind of how some like the feeling you get when you hear FUNK music, the sounds from the classic analog keyboards, the filters n such. Well I enjoy the sounds I hear coming from the synths that make Trance music especially, the deep evolving Pads, silky leads, phat leads and all the FX. I don't know, I just trip out on the sounds and rhythms, it's just a combination of sounds and FX you just don't hear in any other genres.

Hearing something like this, pumps me the fuck up. The Rhythm is fucking insane.

Or if I feel like getting lost mentally. I can listen to shit like this.

Now this is what you call REAL Trance. Big sound that makes you feel good. No corny melodies n shit.

This stuff can make you think positively. Drive to this shit on the highway and you'll see what I mean. Just positive sounding music IMO.

Now this is the kind of shit most people really need drugs to feel it. Or else their just going to think it sounds wierd. I don't though, I think the sounds and rhythms are fucking genius.
