I just got back from a Chuck D lecture on Rap, Race, Reality, and Technology that they had down here at SIU. He touched on a whole bunch of subjects, but he talked about how the midwest gets shitted on. How everyone, the consumers, is influenced completely by the east and west coasts, California, New York, and D.C. He said that that's how it is in government and especially in music, and how it needs to change. He didn't mention any names or anything, but he said that it's about time the Midwest rise up and make a change in the music industry.
It was funny as hell too, cuz when he was talkin about the midwest and how everyone thinks it's just cornfields and yokels, we had a tornado warning and had to go down into the basement of the auditorium. We were down there for over an hour in this hot ass, smelly ass basement, kickin game with Mr. Chuck. About how there's a whole bunch of fake, corny shit that plagues MTV and BET (which he called Booty-n-Thug network), and how it's continuing to get worse and turning us into robots and shit.
He talked for damn near 5 hours, I recommend going to see him if you ever get the chance. He opened my eyes to a lot of shit.
