Well, I'm not sure about that, but I do know that he made a corny CD for kids called "My Name Is Cheech, The School Bus Driver" in 1992. I bought a copy in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart for like $4.98 or something...

Let me tell you, hearing Cheech say, "mind your teachers" (which he does at the end) and sing songs about trading school lunches, not fighting, and shit (one track is called "The Mathematical Polka." Not making this up!) was a letdown you cannot imagine.

Also, I read an old interview with Mr. Chong, where he said that he had approached Cheech about the idea of a reunion several times duing the early 'nineties. Chong said that Cheech basically said, "I'll do it, but I won't do these kind of jokes or those kinds of jokes, blah blah blah..." Wonder what changed his mind (yeah, I know--but besides money)?
