if u havent heard yet Cleveland released boozer from his pitfully 2 year deal where he made only 700k. Believing in boozers promise that he would resign with them for about 6 years and 40 mill. Instead he lied and turned around and got a 6 year 68 mill deal from utah. The cavs were stupid in the first place to release him. He avg almost 16 points and 12 boards and 19 points and 11 boards during the stretch run after the all star break. Hes 23 years old. But you have to look at boozer being a money hungry liar now. The cavs could of easily just of kept him for two years more paying him bird feed but they wanted to give props to a rising young power foward. Supposdly him and lebron james are good friends he liked living in the cleveland and playing for head coach paul silas. Currently the cavs have 15 days to match the offer but unless they gut there team theres no way they can match it. the 40mill deal was all the cap space they had and they were prepared to give it all to him. So was boozer right? Is he a liar now? And who in the right fucking mind would leave an angry lebron james behind whos the next mj AND WILL BE A FORCE TO RECKON WIT FOR THE NEXT 15 YEARS.

hes not a great player yet but hes a huge upside and is alot more deserving of this money than foyle and okur have been getting. But the real question is, is 28 mill extra worth living in utah? Ive heard its an unfriendly place to african-americans (elton brand turned down a max offer from them because of salt lake city and kobe didnt even consider taking a max offer from them) and plus why leave lebron james? The jazz blow and wont be contending in the west as much as the cavs will be in the east.

kirenlenko is an all star, okur as of right is unproven big man with no post game who prefers to take a 3 and is totally overpaid. there backcourt isnt good enough to push them over the hump. The only way i see them getting into the playoffs is if matt harping comes back strong from his injury and the denver nuggetts have some kind of meltdown opening up a playoff spot.

boozer is a restricted free agent

they can sign him its just gonna cost them some coin

i bet they resign him

Yes they can still resign him but the jazz had more cap space to offer. Like i said the cavs are gonna have to gut there team to make up that much money. He was suppose to be making around 6 or 7 mill a year wit the new deal wit the cavs and that was all the cap space they had but now the jazz are giving him nearly 12 mill a year. So thats almost 6mill a year in cap space the cavs gotta gut out (so thats like 3 or 4 people that have to be moved)

As of right now i think the cavs are just gonna have to bend over and take it. People are calling for the cavs gm to quit and the cavs are pissing and moaning calling boozer a liar. Which they have the right to. But if i was the gm i would of kept boozers old deal in(700k for 2 years) and told him to shut the fuck up and play

i'm not sure but i think you can go over the cap to sign your own free agents - but you might have to take a penelty against the cap <---- not sure about this though

Now Cleveland almost certainly cannot retain Boozer. While the Cavs have the right to match the Utah offer, they are only about $4 million under the current cap and would have to trade and/or renounce the rights to a number of players to clear enough room to sign Boozer. Thats the lastest word on them retaining boozer according to espn

Fuck that. How could you be mad at Boozer, I give him props for getting paid. You should be mad at Paxson for releasing him under the assumption that he would resign, at a lower rate than he was worth. And as for blowing out his knee that is the reason he would go for the extra 28 mil, cause you never know.
@3vid-fuck yeah, that shit was tight as fuck!

Boozer is a dick. He promised one thing, and did another.

That's fucked up.

The only reason the Cavs agreed to let him out of his contract was because they were under the assumption that he was going to sign the new deal.

They were going to reward him with a new deal (which they didn't have to do), and he took off...leaving them with zip.

How can anyone think that's right?

You think Boozer is worth $68 mil? No.

And the Cavs were going to give him $40 mil...that ain't chump change.
