Im tired/bored of what im doing now. I would love a new career where I don't go to work and sit in a cubicle everyday surfing the web and taking tech support calls. I would love to start a business or work from home making more then 50K/yr. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to school? It's pretty hard to do much these days without a degree or two...

School don't teach you how to work for yourself though. School is designed to teach you to work a nine to five.

My degree is Computer Technology, I have many computer related certs. Spent 4 years in the Marines. Did the slangin thang for a few years after untill I found myself in Martinez Jail spending all my money on a lawyer. So selling drugs is out of the picture, it doent pay off in the long run. I was hoping for some ideas of some lucrative careers that I might look into other then selling drugs or tamales. But I expected those kind of responces...

Don't forget that school also teaches you how to make other people (your superiors) happy. As well as teaching you to be on time, turn things in on time, etc.

School is a joke...I'm about to graduate college and I learned more doing shit outside of school for fun (doing a tv show for public access) then i learned AT school and with a professional tv studio and professors to teach me...those who can..DO...and those who can't...TEACH...i think that only applies to college tho...

If you want to work at home and online your best bet is setting up a website.

and putting advertisements, i heard adsense pays good.

the only problem you face is, thinking of an idea.
if your creative i guess that aint a problem..
and making websites nowadays aint really hard with all of these software they got out now.

if your thinking about setting one up, i'll help you out with traffic, i got loads of friends who sit infront of the pc and aint got shit to do all day.

not dumb homie, just looking to do better. Im sure your not married with a family trying to like off 50K/yr. 50K may sound like a lot to some of yall youngsters, but when you break it down its not not enough to do anything other then live paycheck to paycheck off. 50K breaksdown to this:

$1700 paycheck every two weeks

My condo is $1760/mo
That leaves me with $1640 a month

now minus:
Car payment is $350/mo
Insurance is $100/mo
Cable is $100/mo
Electricity is $100/mo
2 Cell Phones $100/mo
Gas $150/mo
Groceries $300/mo
Dank $200/mo
Lunch $10/Day or $200/mo

That leaves me with $40 to pay credit card bills, water bill, student loans, etc

Now do you see how 50K year is nothing to be excited about?
