Just kickin a lil' South knowledge. In the Doggystyle forum thread on here, xraidedloc831 asked about if Snoop would ever get his hardcore voice back. To answer that, no because as a former Snoop fan, it's sad to see his hunger as an MC leave but it's truly going away because Snoop is older, which explains his new pitch now. Back in the Doggystyle days, he was how he was because he was fresh and just wanted us all to know why he was Tha Shiznit. He didn't give a FUCK about a "BUSINESS SIDE OF THA GAME." Only when Death Row started crumbling from various internal business affairs did Snoop realize he needed another home, and he found it at No Limit. P gave Snoop some business game which explains why his three No Limit albums had no lyrical focus, but a commerce focus. From there Snoop figured he'd start a label, clothing line, the whole works. The last reason Snoop's changing is cuz he's a family man now with a wifey and kids, so it's natural for him to see rap as a hustle, for himself and them to be financially secure. He's so well known that he feels he ain't got shit to prove. He tends to rest on his achievements. He even says that in Kurupt's "Represent Dat G.C." His line was "ran a hundred miles through a hundred styles/now I'm through wit' it, ain't nothin else to do wit' it." This is why Snoop will never be the same. He even said on MTV that "it ain't what the fans want, it's what we give 'em." How do y'all feel?
