I think price is as important as quality....Too many cheap discs out there...
__________

real chit chat

it's not about cutting corners to get it cheap. We've been involved with Pro-X (print wise) and Planet Media.. and I can say their quality was BULLSHIT (when I dealt with them.) On KVMOI pressing Planet Media fucked up and used the wrong film on the cd face and the shit was a purple shade not green like it was supposed to be. The print work was sent thru Pro-X and was SHITTY. I asked them cats to put a simple sticker on the outside plastic sayin FEATURING Lynch, Tech N9ne bla bla bla and they fuckers used a gat damn label instead of gettin actual stickers to use. Plus Planet Media used to alwayz short us on our orders. So make sure you count your units.

be careful of who you deal with, I'm not slandering businesses I'm just speaking of my experiences with them. Cheaper isnt alwayz better, becuz when they fuck up you alwayz end up payin more in the long run.

Something not everybody knows to look for:

Whenever you use a duplicator, make sure you go directly to the source.

In 2000, there were only 3, maybe 4 actual "plants" in the Bay (even DiscMakers-Fremont was outsourcing).

Nearly every one of the people I've seen advertising for duplicating cd's are actually just brokers. They get a "wholesale" (if you will) price from the plant they broker for, because of the amount of volume they contract to.

These type of business dealings will leave you shortchanged sooner or later. There is no way for the broker to have any quality control over the manufacturing process, since they are not directly involved but just middlemen.

Ask your salesperson where their plant is. Ask them if they actually own a manufacturing plant or do they outsource for this. You might be surprised to find out how many "manufacturers" are really nothing but brokers.
