Car window wont roll up

Anyone knowledgable about car parts? the driver window on my car wont roll up.. it will roll down where it is now, stuck there. one of my other windows wont roll down or up. I think it may be the master switch controller, but Im not sure. I wouldnt even know where to go about looking for another one.

Anyone?

Ha you probably just have a GM car and it was supposed to break.


I used to have that problem on my Grand Am. I parked my car on the streets and it got broken into. The track for the window was all fucked up and I needed a new one. Its expensive to get fixed, but its cheap to do it yourself if you know how.

Is the window automatic or do you roll it down?

If its automatic, it might be electrical and have nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

dat same shit happened 2 me we had 2 take the door apart n put a stick in there 2 hold the window up all my windows was fuckin up some wouldnt roll up some wouldnt roll down

^^yeah I got a 97 honda accord lx and its automatic windows.. I took the controller switch out and Im cleaning it right now cuz it was hella dirty. Im hoping that was the problem

HA!!! I got quoted at $650, I was like hellllllllllllll no. So I went to go look at it more myself and my motor fell off inside the door from a loose bolt. It was a fucking bitch to get it back on and then to get the windows back on the tracks was a bitch too. You have to clamp it in, at a slight angle while there was a lot of grease down there. I fixed it for the price of some bolts and a small C clamp though.

buy yourself an expensive motor for the window...cuz the gm stock motors suck ass..

holly godddamn shit, I actually fixed it.

and Im an idiot when it comes to cars.

I just took off the master switch, sprayed a grip of this cleaning solution in it, then cleaned it out hella good with a q-tip. and now it works.

I sure wasnt expecting this to happen

good lookin out though, yall

that shit happened to my moms volvo. if you roll the window down its a BITCH to get back up but it's possible if you press the button a million times and pull up the glass lol.

damn i had the same problem and i paid like 150 to have it fixed at some window repair shop. i think they said someone had try to break into my car by forcing the window down and it fucked up the motor. i was rollin around in my car for a week with tape on my window so that it wouldnt come down. had to wait for my pay check.

fuck....I got a 98 Grand Prix. Same shit happened. Power window.I rolled the driver window down one moring. Heard like some cracking/crunching type of sound. didnt roll back up. It works very little. Rolls up or down a couple inches. Gonna have to try to fix that shit.

Happened to my old car before. Had to replace the motor, but i got the parts for cheap on ebay. Shit is kinda annoying to fix though. Had to open the door panel and shit. It helps to have 2 people though so one can hold the window up while the other puts the motor in.
