i didnt even know dc made springs & I dont think they make a cat either
that doesnt look like a dc intake from the picture

he makes it seem like hes done everything right
but lowering a car on stock shocks=blown shocks
and a sign of a ricer

test drive it
check for a check engine light
gears grinding
strange noises
$2000 sounds like somethings probably fucked up

& I wouldn't buy anything from a ricer
they drive they shit like they stole it

Congrats. The next step is having someone steal the car from you professionally, driving it off a cliff, collecting a fat ass insurance check, and buying a real car.

man i've been thru three honda/acuras and all my friends drive imports too and we can all agree that salvage title is no bueno. you just never know what to expect with a salvaged car, what its been thru, how it was repaired, etc. unless you or one of your friends is a honda expert and is able to literally inspect every inch of the car inside and out, i would hold out for something else.

The GOOD: Given that it's an EK body style Civic for 2k... that's nearly dirt cheap. Those D-series sohc motors go over 200k miles like nothing with proper maintenance.

The BAD: Judging from the modifications he has that really DOESN'T MAKE SENSE aka Ricer Shit, more than likely homeboy abuses that car. You don't need an aftermarket clutch for a 95hp D-series motor.. and you don't need better handling when that car would barely push itself up the Sunol Grade.. and a 2hp gain from a cold air intake isn't going to help. To me that was his "racing" car instead of a daily driver. Plus, he bought it without knowing why it was salvage title in the first place. I doubt he babied it.

One of my boys has the same chassis style as this Civic and his is salvage title cause of a tweaked chassis. Everything else is fine, it's just he eats thru tires like crazy because of it.. and that's with REAL racing suspension and everything digitally measured. Make sure you find out why it's salvaged!

ALSO, you could get hit with a smog check/test any year now and it MIGHT NOT pass because of the high flow cats. And depending on the smog station, they won't even test it with that intake just because it's aftermarket.. even if it's 50 state legal. Not too sure if the header is smog legal either. You might as well pay smog under the table instead of buying a brand new stock air box, stock header and stock cats. Not only smog type shit you have to worry about, it's also the pigs that pull you over that you have to trip about too.. ESPECIALLY if you live in the 408 area. Fix it tickets are a hassle and adds up.. getting pulled over by a veteran cop training his rookie patna isn't fun either.

IMO, Carfax it and if the real reason why it's salvaged isn't too serious.. then go for it assuming everything else is fine inside and out. Bring someone that knows Honda's or cars in general when you test drive it. If not, wait a little longer for a Grandma or Grandpa to sell their Honda. Might have to dish a little more dough but they always sell the cleanest legit shit as opposed to these young cats with whips. Just remember the finest lookin bitches are sometimes the dirtiest.
