I broke down and made an account but there has already been significant cross-pollination of women.

I've already lost one potential due to the social networking effect.

What I want is a facebook where no one can see anything. I just want the ability to post and get messages and say I have a facebook.

yes you can still do it...i pretty much got everyone blocked out that's not on my friends list...

go to account>Privacy Settings>Profile Information

then from there choose if you want only friends to view your profile or friends of friends or customize it the way you want it to be..

and that's it..

Facebook is turning into a government scheme to get everybody on file, and to know where they are and what they are doing at all times. :paranoid:

Only way to stay out of the system is to completely stop using the Internet.
Good luck with that, though.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- A 16-year-old Arkansas boy is suing his mother, accusing her of slandering him on his Facebook page.

Denise New of Arkadelphia is charged with harassment and her son - whose name has not been released - is asking that his mother be prohibited from contacting him.

Authorities say the boy lives with his grandmother, who has custodial rights.

Denise New says she believes she has the legal right to monitor her son's activities online and that plans to fight the charges.

Prosecutor Todd Turner declined to comment, citing the boy's age
