Can We Get A Discussion Going On "Black Wall Street" and the Tulsa Race Riots?

well, Tulsa had the largest "black" economy in the country...possibly the world, since by this time AFrica had been Euro'ed
Basically the street was a BLACK WALL STREET, with tons of business and well to do people...the whites were jealous since most of them were struggling, and BURNED THE FUCKIN PLACE DOWN...
Things like that have greatly affected the economic status of blacks...(i'm white y'all, so don't get it twisted like i'm just saying this to get over) so besides INDIVIDUAL racism, (two equally skilled people and the Non-Ethnic being chosen...i think this is less of a problem today, at least in places like the bay area) you have a people who have almost NO OPTION...where's the 40 Acres and A Mule?
you know blacks weren't allowed to buy houses in the bay area in the 50's in MOST NEIGHBORHOODS?
if they wanted to live in San Francisco they basically had to live in the projects...when you have high density poverty is has an effect on people...WHITE BLACK ASIAN WHATEVER....i just so happens blacks have had the worst treatment in american history...no other race(besides the italian, irish and jewish immigrants of the 20's in New YOrk) has had that kind of trouble...
we have to give those who need it a head start now...when you have a Race, and one kids falls down...you don't just start another race without picking him up and bringing him to the front of the line with everyone else first do you?

Youngmoe, you saying then that AA is necessary to right the wrongs of the past? if so I agree, whites (in general) still have the biggest advantage in this country. Even a "poor white trash" kid can grow up to be president in this country(Bill Clinton) but any other race has no chance at all. Of course thats just one example.

If you look at the satistics for Latino's/Hispanics it is clear that they are poorly represented in educational achievment, access to health care and are poorly represented in white collar positions. Same goes for other minority groups, well maybe not Asians. My point I am getting to is that if you look at the Cubans in Florida, their well ahead of the rest of the Latinos and Hispanics. Why? because when Castro took over power, refugees started fleeing Cuba and showing up at the shores of Miami. So the United States Government at the time decided to welcome these refugees, labeling them "political refuguees", since the United States was against Communism this gave the impression to the rest of the world that America was a belovelant country.
See the Government provided the Cubans with free education to help them get started asimilating into the United States. They also provided subsidized housing as well as health care. All because they were fleeing big bad Communist Cuba.
The point I am getting to is, if the Government can provide these opportunities for Cubans why can't they provide the same for the rest of the minoritiy groups who are poorly represented in social status?
