it wasn't until you just questioned it's status which in turn makes it an affirmative unless there's a possible thread close

There isn't necessarily a character limit, more of a processing time limit. If it takes more than 30 seconds for the server to process the post when you try to post it, then it errors out. That's why even ECF'NW's attempt to cut some of the characters out (like the coloring on some of the things that has been blue for an extended period of time), the shortened post still fails. Even attempts to break it up over several posts has proven problematic due to the limitations of the software/server.

Thank you Kain. I didn't want to sound like a demanding dickhead. I just wanted to know why it wasn't updated.

Thanks you cleared that up.

hows about a wikipedia page where multiple people can edit and update
this has been talked about. people who are dickfaces edit it because they think they know more than us. then it becomes a mess.

but a simple webpage would be pretty easy to set up, then just throw up a link in the discog thread.

uhh, cant a new thread be made and just copy and paste the old thread over a few posts?

Pretty much true. Doing something like that would open the door to a lot of problems, like conflicting views how things should be set up and as mentioned, possible data integrity loss as there would be no real filter to what's put up.

That is an option, and one that I've considered a great deal due to frustrations of trying to work with this forum. The two things that come to mind with that idea however is: One, it would move it away from being a "Siccness project" like it's been from the day Hollow compiled his thread and just something that's linked to which would be like linking to Tech's page on Wikipedia instead of posting information about or something.

Two would be hosting. Sure, there are a lot of free hosts out there and while some offer decent setups... they're not all that reliable. You may have enough bandwidth to last you the month and then some, but still see 10 days of downtime a month do to the servers going down. It's one of those "it's free... beggers can't be choosers" things. I don't see paid hosting being a smart option either for such a small project. *Shrugs*

why not seperate into Threads of one with Features, Actual Albums from the Artist, or Maybe into Year Spans or something? I'm sure someone has free time to maybe seperate the stuff out into the according Threads
