Funk Carioca aka Baile Funk is Brazilian (Rio mostly) Funk music. Funk in Brazil is different than what we all think of when we say funk though. It is much more like Miami Bass.

Funk Proibidão is really whats up cuz it is illegal. It is super vulgar and is usually put out by the various drug cartels.

You go to a party in the favela in Rio and it will be Funk.

I've been up on this since back in 2000 - my Portuguese teacher had a bunch of it that he let me borrow and copy.

MV Bill and Racionais are big time rappers down there. They are hip hop not funk though.

I used to have a shit ton of funk till my HD freaked out on me.
