Confirming rumors, Activision has revealed the next game in its billion-dollar shooter franchise, titled Call of Duty: Ghosts. The military-based FPS will arrive on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 5, and on "next-generation platforms" on an unspecified date. No Wii U version was announced.

A press release reveals the next-gen version of Ghosts will sport an all-new engine "from the developer that started it all, Infinity Ward." The series has been using the same engine, with numerous annual modifications, since 2005.

Saying it would have been "safe" for Infinity Ward to develop a fourth entry in the Modern Warfare series, Mark Rubin, executive producer of developer Infinity Ward, noted his team saw the next generation of consoles as the "perfect opportunity" to start a new chapter for the franchise. "So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players," he added.

Activision will debut the next-gen version of Call of Duty: Ghosts – and revealing its new engine to the world – during Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 'Next Generation' event on May 21.

Ghosts features an "all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast of characters," the press release further detailed.

An onslaught of additional info and explosion-filled marketing is expected closer to E3 2013.

Call of faggots route is making the same shit every year with little difference for retarded little kids who want the same shit every year with a new name. Since idiots keep buying they going to keep doing this half assed game. Battlefield >call of down syndrome for now.

I play call.of duty quite often now, and I can assure you that I'm no moron running around stabbing people 6 feet away for a kill. I just play it to do the weapon challenges and zombie mode. But I'm new to this call of duty series, so I don't know exactly where everyone is coming from when they're constantly biching and complaining about a new call of duty game.

Oh its cool breh let me break it down - COD is cartoony, childish game. Its cool for begginners and shit. Battlefield = pure awesome, realistic, real men, war simulation.

Keep in mind these are Facts not my personal opinions.

I watched a vid of a battlefield game, and this dude ran a long ass ways across the map only to get shot by a camper. Don't think I'd enjoy that very much. Especially after all of that running. But video games is animation, so I wouldn't expect anything less or anything more than cartoony. But like I said, I play to have fun. I don't pick out games based on if they're too cartoony or have a more realistic aspect than your average video game.

edit: I still wouldn't mind checking out a battlefield game, though.

There are different modes of multiplayer on Battlefield. There is the war mode with giant maps, and there are other modes with smaller maps more similar to COD. I enjoyed both. So that video you saw was a mode you don't have to play. Still the fact you have the option is better.

Bit overall, just the game play, the sound, the graphics, the game engine, the realism, etc, is all superior to COD. COD just has the bigger name, its like the Madden of FPS games.
