you have a fair point. and you are right toward the end of your post. It was shot in L.A. so there is really no big cost to getting there. 5000 flyers and a Mag ad would cost more. LOL, Lim and Flip are cool so it was nothin. and you can see lims profile and the dreads, his hat etc....
What your not getting though is why he did it:
1. you build a film (Video) resume when submitting your past work to Distro., record labels, potential rappers looking for features, and parts in movies.
2. these types of people want to see how you look on film. LOL yeah it was 0.02 seconds but there is a button called a pause button they can press and see what they need to see.
3. you also hit more people on t.v. then you do with flyers and a Mag ad all done with no work in handing out the flyers too. A video is also free to people and mags are not.
4. But if your really bent on flyers witch worked 10 years ago and now dont work for shit you can put on the flyer the link to the video your in too make you look even more solid and creditable to a potential fan or new fan.
in other words your advice to lim was just that (advice)! but in these days you need to be more inventive of yourself then 5k flyers and a mag ad. and everyone knows T.V. is where its at especially if it has rotation on BET, MTV. Come on its a no brainer.
