We all knew this college great wouldnt win the biased heisman trophy, but invite the poor guy to watch someone else win it. This cat was tossin TD's in a game when he could barley walk. Then he misses a game with the same injury and he drops out of sight in the race. I bet if his ass was playin for Miami with worse numbers then what he put up, he would have won it. Here is the user vote on espn.com as to who will win it. I voted for banks.

30.0% Larry Johnson
20.9% Brad Banks
20.0% Carson Palmer
14.6% Willis McGahee
14.3% Ken Dorsey

53,079 Votes.

Its not biased just because he wont win it, he wont be considered for it because its biased. If you check back over a month ago i made a thread on how the voting was biased.

Dont matter, when I posted that heisman thread up a while ago, I had 6 candidates, with him bein the 6th, but they usually take 5 guys anyway. But i felt he was 6th out of the bunch anyway, but that they still would invite him!! So I think they are right, and not biased!! Although he is the best QB to me as well, the other QB's should get more votes than him, because of diff. reasons, so no I agree that u either bring 6 and he would be 6, or bring 5 like usual and he would be the one left off!! But we think what we think!! GOT EM!!!

Dont speak to soon dubb!! Mel Kiper just showed his top 5 draft prospect list and here is the order:

1. C. Palmer (QB) USC
2. C. Rogers (WR) Mish St.
3. J. Kennedy (DT) Penn St.
4. B. Leftwich (QB) Marshall
5. Gross (OT) Dont know much about him

But as u can see Palmer is rated higher than Leftwich so dont be surprised if he gets drafted before Leftwich!! And regardless Im sure Leftwich is atleast a little upset for not gettin invited!! But anyway he is the best QB to me also, but he may not be the first chosen!! GOT EM!!!

Leftwich threw for over 4,000 yards for Marshall

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Byron Leftwich's second straight 4,000-yard passing season wasn't enough to make him a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Leftwich wasn't among the five players invited to Saturday's trophy presentation ceremony in New York City.

Leftwich's slow recovery from a leg injury sustained in early November ended his candidacy.

"I'm not disappointed at all,'' Leftwich said. "I don't hold any grudges. Nobody promised me I'd be one of those guys in the first place.''

The finalists are quarterbacks Brad Banks of Iowa and Carson Palmer of Southern California, Penn State running back Larry Johnson, and Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey and tailback Willis McGahee.

Leftwich could have been Marshall's third Heisman finalist since the Thundering Herd rejoined Division I-A in 1997. Randy Moss finished fourth in the balloting that year, and Chad Pennington, Leftwich's predecessor, was fifth in 1999.

Marshall tried to build Leftwich's name recognition, distributing thousands of bobblehead dolls, CD-ROMs and posters to fans and Heisman voters nationwide.

Leftwich sustained an injury to his left shin on Nov. 2. He missed one game and threw for just 219 yards after returning three weeks later.

"I would have loved to have seen how it would have went if I wouldn't have gotten hurt, but it's something out of my control,'' Leftwich said.

Marshall's status as a Mid-American Conference team and its weak competition also hurt Leftwich's chances.

Still, Leftwich had five 400-yard games this season, including the final two weeks of the season.

On Saturday he threw for 404 yards and four TDs, including a 40-yarder with 49 seconds left, in a 49-45 win over Toledo in the Mid-American Conference championship game.

Leftwich could follow Moss and Pennington as NFL first-round draft picks. Fresno State's David Carr, another 4,000-yard passer who wasn't a Heisman finalist in 2001, ended up being the overall No. 1 pick last spring.

"I'll let those guys decide all that,'' Leftwich said.

Some experts have rated the 6-foot-6, 240-pound Leftwich as one of the top players available in the draft. He led the nation in total offense and completed 69 percent of his passes for 4,019 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

"Byron's in a league of his own,'' offensive lineman Nate McPeek said. "He's one of the best, and I'm sure that's going to be proven in April's draft.''

MARSHALL DIDN'T PLAY ANYONE THAT WAS GOOD.....THE ONLY TIME THEY PLAYED A DECENT TEAM,LEFTWICH SUCKED BALLS AND MARSHALL LOST.....HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE THERE.....IT'S THE SAME REASON STEVE MCNAIR DIDN'T WIN WHEN HE WAS AT ALCORN STATE........IF YOU DON'T PLAY GOOD TEAMS AND YOU HAVE GOOD STATS,IT MEANS NOTHING....

Tragic, if your talking about when they played V-Tech, he threw for almost 500yards and 4 tds. he cant stop V-tech from scoring, he can only do so much.

Like we discussed before, no QB is going 1st if Houston gets first pick. Also, im wondering if Kiper picked Carr to go first last year?

Yes kiper did pick Carr to go first last year!! He is pretty good (Mel Kiper)! But I agree with u about Leftwich, but that game against V. Tech, was misleadin! I watched that game, and they got blown in the first 3 quarters, and he didnt do much but he lit it up in the 4th quarter after V. Tech benched alot of their players and u know the sayin "garbage time", but still he didnt do weak like dude said, but it was misleading though!! Also those arent Kipers top 5 draft picks in oreder just his prospect, becuase detroit wont take a QB either!! But he is just sayin Plamer is the best prospect and the first team that drafts a QB will take him over Leftwich!! But hey we will see!! GOT EM!!

Kiper had Harrington as his number 1 qb last year folks..........he knows his shit, but he aint always right..

Palmer is good, real good...but I would rather have Leftwitch on my squad.........he is a big guy with a huge arm..........you cant ask much more for a qb

Well see...you usually know what happens to a QB that wins the Heisman in the NFL....FLOP!!!!!Perfect examples are Leaf and Crouch...no where to be seen!!!!!

I think its gonna be between Palmer and Johnson....they both had tough ass scedules(even though Johnson played like shit in the 3 biggest games for PSU this year)...matter of fact...rated by the BCS computer...USC had the TOUGHEST schedule in the nation...so well see...

Come on man u think a superstition caused Ward to change his mind?? haha thats funny mane!! Ward was good at both but B-Ball was his first sport!! he luved playin b-ball!! Plus his draft stock wasnt high because of his size and style!! But still some were weak and some were aight!! I mean i dont have a list, but off the head Testaverde was decent!! he actually had a couple tight years, but overall he was decent! But there were some weak ones, but again I just think they were weak regardless if they won it or not!! OH C. Woodson won the heisman that year that u thought Leaf won it!! GOT EM!!!
