The earthquake and its aftermath in Haiti have touched all of our lives. Many in the CD Baby family have already contributed as individuals, but we wanted to do more to help the victims of the horrible earthquake tragedy. By selling your music on CD Baby, you can help raise funds towards those affected by the disaster.

Starting on Monday, January 25th and continuing for two weeks, we will donate $1 of our cut from every CD sale through our website, and $1 from every download sale over $8.99 on our site, to the American Red Cross and to Mercy Corps, a Portland-based relief organization with a large presence in Haiti. With your help, we hope to raise tens of thousands of dollars. Since the donation will be taken out of OUR cut of sales, you will still earn the normal amount per CD and download sale. If you’d like to help out as well, consider letting your fan base know that a portion of your sales will go to these fine organizations.

If anyone has watched what is going on over in Haiti on the News, considers themself an ADULT man or woman and has anything negative to say in regards to anything that is trying to bring aid to that area YOU HAVE issues.

Cd Baby and its parent company Disc Makers need to be applauded for their efforts in what they are doing. They bring in Millions of Dollars per year from the Cd Baby site, if they are offering $1 per unit sold. They alone can make a big difference.

I don't know if any other artists of whom have their music up on Cd Baby obtained that e-mail from them (but I assume they did), but if they have and they are on siccness.net why didn't they post up the same type of message?

I do not have the same type of Bank Account that I did a few years ago. I cannot break out my check book and write a check, but it doesn't cost me a dime to promote my music of which $1 of the proceeds will be given to a great cause. I will always stand up in a situation like this.

Kinda wonder what is going on inside of people whom turn positive work into negativity? If Cd Baby is doing this for every artists on their page, pick a random artist and order one of their Cd's. If you have negativity because you don't want to support what I am doing fine, but don't let the Women and Children of Haiti go without something like Food and Even clean water out of your negativity.

Katrina hit home to me. One of the artists on my "Jealousy & Envy?!" cd was never seen again or found after Katrina.

who knows exactly where this money people sends goes. if i were to ever donate money to anything id have to do it personally, id rather donate to something local before something international. the way companies and the government is nowadays, i wouldnt trust them with anything. id rather have "celebrities' donate. not everyone has money to throw around these days.

Sadly, I agree. Where the fuck is the rest of the world when we could use the help? I am extremely sympathetic to the plight of Haiti...however, no one ever rallies around the US in our time of need.

However, anyone that donates their time/money to help anyone in need ( I.E. Haiti ), I'm all for it and it's a wonderful gesture to do so.

How very ill informed you are good sir. The supposedly "Evil Commmunist" country of Cuba had makeshift hospitals and physicians ready to go fly to New Orleans hours after Hurricane Katrina hit,but the U.S gov't would not let them enter to help. I know Cuba should not account for the countless other countries that have plentiful resources but to say no other country is willing to help when there is disaster here in the United States is pure ignorance.
