Windows 8.1 works fine for me

I got transformer t100, was gonna buy $1300 surface pro but they didn't even have it in stock so they lost my impulse buy lol bought the t100 and ps4 instead.

But ya the shit is great to me, normal comp for normal functions on desktop. Then sometimes I separate it, use the touchscreen and just stay on metro for looking at sports news and videos etc.

But as far as a desktop computer goes I stick with 7.

either windows 8.1 is ah lil better or I'm just getting used to this crappy format. Still don't know how to install or find any program to install to birn music or convert avi files to DVD format and burn movies. Ill get it. Youtube videos help a lot. I activated my preinstalled office and norton to full programs for free. Thanks YouTube.

Windows 8.1 is tight. Install windows 8.1, right click on taskbar and click properties then click on the navigation tab. Checkmark "When I sign in or close all apps screen, go to desktop instead of start" This will boot to your desktop. Then install "Classic Shell" start menu and waaalaaa you have Windows 7 look an feel with all the benefits of windows 8.1.

Never by HP or any shit like that, it's overpriced and they use shit parts.

Get somebody to build you one or build it yourself. These days it is even easier and you can use youtube to help you.

Research can save you thousands.

Never had any problems w/ 7 or 8- I run 7 on i7 desktop and 8 on i5 laptop. XP is what made me switch to linux until 7 came out, got tired of windows glitchiness, never had a crash or freeze w/ 7 or 8 tho.

Windows was the sh!t in the DOS shell dayz, fell off after that...

Windows 7, the last great OS from Windows. XP was the most stable though. I might switch to a Mac with dual boot though. I just can't get over the price, for $800 I got an AMD 6 core cpu, 8gb of ram, 1TB HD, 750W power supply, and a graphics card which is not outdated, I believe GTX 460? Renders full HD video pretty quickly but I need to upgrade that. I also got a new case and added a liquid cpu cooler, corsair H60 that I got from Fry's on sale for $30.

You cant blame that on the OS. There are many factors involved with slow internet.

1. Defrag needed on the entire computer which causes your browser to load slow
2. Malware addons loading slowing it down. (plugins can be disabled. Google search how for your specific browser)
3. Your router is experiencing "slow down" or your on wireless and need to switch channels.
4. The website you are trying to load is slow in general. (Press Window Key +R then type CMD then ENTER. on the command prompt type PING google.com) You should get under 30ms replys, anything above between 30-50 means something else is wrong.

5. IF Internet Explorer(IE) is being used, it is some what slow by default. Switch browsers to Chrome and install ADBLOCK PLUS chrome add on.

6. Computer has virus's causing slow down.

So many factors to consider.
