That's not that simple. Maybe in UFC fights Gracie could have won Bruce Lee, because in those fights there are certain rules like your not allowed to strike dim mak (=nerve) points, opponents eyes, throat, temple, etc. Many kungfu styles are originally made to kill the opponent as quickly as possible by hitting dim mak points, while Brazilian Jiujutsu is more suitable for those UFC fights which favor grapplers over fast strikers. Bruce Lee was so unbelievable fast that one punch for example to opponents throat and the match would've been over. But in UFC fights you cannot commit strikes like that. I very much like Gracie's style, but whit that unbelievable speed that Bruce Lee had he (Lee) would have won Gracie in a match whitout ANY rules.
UFC fights are no way to judge how good or affective each style is. It's only about how affective your style is when there are certain rules to play by. It's not a free fight. Real free fights are held in secret locations around the world (especially in Asia) and in those fights many striking styles are very affective.
