Sibling Sports, LLC – the managing member of M-1 Global – recently announced the make-up of M-1’s new management team.
The first and perhaps largest addition to the M-1 organization was Monte Cox, a well-known mixed martial arts manager who has clients such as current Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight titleholder Sean Sherk and former UFC heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia, amongst several others.
Cox garnered the title of M-1 Global’s president and chief executive officer.
Of his new colleagues, Cox said, "We are pleased with the high level of talent that we have been able to assemble to lead our new organization. Our leadership team has a great blend of experience and skills that will help guide our organization in the years to come."
The new leadership team consists of the following members: Vadim Finkelchtein, Bob Clark, Joost Raimond, Apy Echteld, Brian Patton and Dennis Spencer.
Vadim Finkelchtein was appointed to the M-1 Global Executive Committee and is known around the world both as the president of M-1 Mix Fight and the manager to Fedor Emelianenko, MMAWeekly’s No. 1 ranked heavyweight fighter in the world.
Finkelchtein will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to the entire team. He will also help stage M-1 Global events in Russia.
"We are elated to partner with Vadim. Not only is he the founder of M-1 Mix Fight, but he is also a very successful Russian businessman,” Cox said.
Bob Clark was appointed chief operating officer and was also added to the M-1 Global Executive Committee. He will be responsible for directing and managing day-to-day operations. Clark also serves as president of Sibling Theatricals, Inc. and director of marketing for Sibling Entertainment Group, Inc.
Joost Raimond was appointed president of M-1 Eurasia and is another member of the M-1 Global Executive Committee. He will be responsible for directing and managing day-to-day operations in Eurasia.
Apy Echteld was appointed vice president of fighter development. He will be responsible for matchmaking and helping identify fighters for M-1 Global to sign. He also was appointed to the M-1 Global Executive Committee. Echteld has been an accomplished martial arts trainer since 1979.
Brian Patton was appointed vice president of M-1 Global. He will coordinate with SFX Media & Events to secure sponsorships and endorsements for both M-1 Global and its fighters. He was also appointed to the M-1 Global Executive Committee. Patton will continue in his current position as a faculty member at his alma mater Greenville College and is also the business manager for Matt Hughes, former UFC welterweight champion.
The final addition to M-1’s new staff was Dennis Spencer, executive vice president of SFX Media & Events. He was also appointed to the M-1 Global executive committee.
"(Spencer) brings us over 30 years of experience in professional sports and sports television. He will serve as our liaison with SFX Media & Events and he will help negotiate television and other media contracts, sponsorships and endorsements for M-1 Global and our fighters," Cox said.
