Kid dies falling from Ferris wheel
The small Siberian town of Berdsk is in shock
after a six-year-old fell to his death from a
Ferris wheel. The police are now looking into why
bystanders did nothing to intervene to help the
boy before he plunged the 15-metre drop.
Ironically, the tragedy occurred as the park was
preparing for opening day pending a visit by
safety officials.

It was easy for 6-year-old Maksim to hop across
the fence to the park's main attraction - the
Ferris wheel. A six-metre fence was no obstacle
and there were no grown-ups near by to tell him
not to.

The Ferris wheel control buttons were easy to find
and operate, and he easily switched it on. He
decided to change seats mid-ride, but he slipped
and was left dangling on a metal bar until he lost
his grip and fell 15 metres.

Young people below watched the tragedy unfold and
used their cell phones to record the ordeal rather
than help the boy. They yelled for him to hold on
tight laughed and made jokes.

Later, the video where Maksim can be heard crying
for his mother has appeared on the internet. The
police are now eager to find who made it, as well
as for those who were responsible for not securing
access to the ride.

The parks owners are also under investigation, it
appears there were no security guards on the
premises and no one preventing access to the
control panels.

It doesn't matter if we would have done that at 6 or not. Point is the kid did and most kids that age do dare-devil/not to smart things all the time. I used to climb trees to the point where you couldn't even really see me from the ground anymore when I was his age or slightly older. The kid made a huge mistake and it cost him his life but saying "fuck the kid for being an idiot" is if not anything extremely unsympathetic and idiotical on your behalf.

Right now you are like talking to a wall. Was it stupid? Of course it was but the kid was six. Not sixteen or twenty six, six years old. Most kids his age have much less of a grip on what kind of repercussions their actions are going to have then kids even a few years older.

Read the article...

If I was 6 and was in amusement park and had access to the buttons to operate the rides, then I would of been on every ride in the park. No one on here wouldn't do the same.

It's still fucked up nobody did anything to help the kid.
