Garcia could blast Morales out in the first round and nobody would give 2 shits, other than Danny's semi down syndrome father.

Rios vs Alvarado is a crazy match up. No shame in either guy losing. I don't know if Rios can carry that power up to 140. It's going to be interesting to see.

Rios is a come forward brawler that is looking to wear you down or break your will. This style works against smaller guys and non boxers. I don't know if Rios is going to be able to bully around Alvarado or have the punching power to keep Alvarado off of him. This will be a action fight for sure can't wait. And the winner will probably fight Manny or Bradley next.

wow interesting to see how much these guys are getting paid. I see they had to really pay the Frenchman big to get him to fight Quillin in the states.

• Junior welterweight titlist Danny Garcia $1 million with challenger and former titlist Erik Morales getting $300,000.

• Welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi $350,000 and challenger Pablo Cesar Cano $150,000.

• Middleweight titlist Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam $400,000 and challenger “Kid Chocolate” Peter Quillin $150,000.

• Welterweight titlist Randall Bailey $500,000 and challenger and former junior welterweight titlist Devon Alexander $600,000.

• Middleweight Daniel Jacobs $15,000 and opponent Josh Luteran $11,000. (This is the main bout on Showtime Extreme.)

Total purse is $3,531,500 (there are some lesser fights not shown as well).

Morales, really?

USADA Finds Irregularities in Erik Morales' Drug Test

By Rick Reeno

Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, has informed BoxingScene.com that his company was advised by USADA [U.S. Anti-Doping Agency] that "irregularities" were discovered in a random drug test taken by former three division champion Erik Morales.

Morales is fighting WBA/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia in a rematch on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight is going to headline a Showtime televised quadrupleheader.

Because there are confidentiality agreements involved with the USADA testing protocol, Schaefer is legally prohibited from discussing the substance that USADA discovered in Morales' system.

"On Tuesday night, USADA informed us that there were irregularities in a test from Erik Morales," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com. "On Wednesday, USADA informed the respective camps and the [New York State Athletic] Commission as well. This process is going to have to play itself out."

Schaefer doesn't want Morales to be burned at the cross until the entire testing process plays out. Reportedly the parties are waiting for the outcome of Morales' B sample in order to confirm the substance in question.

As of right now, Morales is NOT out of the fight. Everything should be resolved in one form or another by tomorrow. However, several sources are indicating that Garcia-Morales [at least as of now] will move forward as scheduled.

"I think what is important here, is that there is not going to be a witch hunt against Erik Morales. Let’s allow the process to play out," Schaefer said.

Morales tests positive for Clenbuterol.

Clenbuterol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to a source.
Erik Morales' fails drug test, will still fight Danny Garcia at Barclays Center on Saturday, sources say - ESPN

Interesting to note:

In 2011, players of the Mexico national football team were found with clenbuterol in their bloodstreams, but were acquitted by WADA after they claimed the clenbuterol came from contaminated food. FIFA has also claimed 109 players from the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico tested positive for this drug, because Mexican meat is contaminated.

So it's probably no big deal, just contaminated Mexican food.
