Here was my post...
close fight, I thought Lara won by a round or two. he used great ring generalship, made canelo miss bad(and look ridiculous) good footwork, jab, and a few good 2 and 3 punch combinations(should've threw more) canelo did tear that body up. as

GYM relied on the representations of Estephan and continued to promote and enhance the value of Lemieux’s reputation and posturing him and Estephan into a position to reap the benefits of a world championship fight for Lemieux without the involvement of GYM.
Golden Boy Promotion and Home Box Office (HBO) are alleged to have been complicit with Estephan, and have wrongfully conspired to remove GYM as Lemieux’s promoter and to wrongfully profit from these wrongs at the expense of GYM.
GYM, represented by the law firm, Savonitto & Ass. Inc. has determined that, under the aforementioned circumstances, that they would sue to enforce its rights under the contract between GYM and David Lemieux and to take all legal measures necessary to do so.

There isn’t a rematch clause in the contract between the two fighters, so it’s possible that both of them can go their separate ways at the conclusion of their fight next May at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Arum obviously wouldn’t mind if the two of them fought again, as long as it was a competitive fight the first time around. This is going to be big money for Arum, Top Rank and for Pacquiao. He’s not going to see that kind of money if Arum keeps matching Pacquiao against his Top Rank stable fighters like Brandon Rios, Jessie Vargas and Tim Bradley.
“Thinking on the rematch for Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is that if it’s a competitive fight, both likely will seek another, Arum said,” Via Lance Pugmire’s twitter. “Also, Bob Arum tells me there was no rematch clause made because it would’ve taken too long.”
It would be a bad idea for Pacquiao and Mayweather were to fight each other again if the first fight is a one-sided affair with one of them getting totally dominated over a number of rounds. For example, if Mayweather schools Pacquiao totally for 8 rounds before knocking him out in the 9th, then I don’t think there would be any reason whatsoever for a rematch.
I’m sure boxing fans would still be interested in seeing another fight between them, but it wouldn’t be good for Pacquiao’s career to take a potential second licking from Mayweather.
At the same time, it could cause Pacquiao’s pay-per-view numbers to take a nosedive after a second loss to Mayweather. The rematch will probably still do well, but obviously it won’t bring in the same kind of money and PPV buys as their first fight, because boxing fans will see the fight as a money grab due to the one-sided nature of their previous fight, and that in turn will cause a lot of boxing fans to save their money rather than dumping it on a fight where they know who will be victorious.
The money is going to be so good for both fighters; it won’t be surprising to see them show interest in a rematch with one another. Mayweather isn’t going to be able to make the kind of cash against anyone else that he’ll be making against Pacquiao.
Mayweather will be getting three to four times what he normally makes for his fights, and that makes it a lot more appealing for him to get that kind of cash all at nice in a fight against Pacquiao rather than Mayweather having to fight three to four times to get the same kind of cash.
The problem with Mayweather getting the money the slow way with a 3-4 fights is that he’ll have to fight a lot of guys that hold and run a lot. Mayweather won’t be able to count on him being matched against a slugger that will be coming to him to mix it up.

The Dirrell-Jack fight will be on Spike TV.
The venue for the fight still hasn’t been determined at this time, but there’s a possibility that it could be staged either in Chicago or Detroit. Having it take place in Detroit would be perfect, as the unbeaten Dirrell lives in Flint, Michigan.
This would enable him to take advantage of his loyal fan base in Michigan.
Once the talented Dirrell gets Jack out of the way, he has to defend his World Boxing Council title against #1 WBC George Groves (21-2, 16 KOs) later this year. This could work out well for Dirrell, because it will enable him to get two potentially soft opponents back to back.
That’s not to say that Groves doesn’t have power in his punches, because he packs a wallop with either hand. However, Groves’ problem is that his stamina is suspect, as is his chin. Groves wears down in his fights once he gets the 7th round barrier, and he’s open to getting knocked out from the 6th round on.
I basically see Groves as a six round type of fighter right now. For him to develop into a good fighter, he’s going to need to improve his stamina so that he stops getting knocked out once the fight hits the 6th round. As for Badou Jack, he’s a lot better fighter than a lot of boxing fans think of him.
Fans see Jack’s 1st round knockout loss to the hard hitting Derek Edwards in February 2014, and they assume that he’s got a soft chin. That’s not the case though. Jack was clobbered by a right hand that he never saw coming from Edwards, and once he Jack was hurt, he never recovered.
The Dirrell-Jack fight will be a good showcase fight for Dirrell in order for him to show off his talent to the boxing world. One can only hope that Jack will be able to stay upright long enough to give Dirrell some rounds so that he can get sharp for his fight against Groves later in the year.
Dirrell hasn’t fought since he defeated Sakio Bika last year in August to win the World Boxing Council 168 pound title in a 12 round decision. Dirrell would have fought by now if there were any exciting opponents willing to face him, but the division has been quiet lately.
The only guy that seems eager to face Dirrell is Groves, and that’s not a big fight. That’s just going to be a simple bout that will take place either in the United States or the UK.
It’ll probably pick up a few more fans if it’s staged in the UK, but I don’t suspect that it’ll draw a ton of fans. Groves isn’t a huge seller. I mean, he brought in fans for his two fights against Froch, but I see that largely due to Froch rather than Groves.

Jones isn’t currently ranked in the top 15 by any of the sanctioning bodies in the cruiserweight division, although he has won his last four fights against little known opposition.
Jones Jr will be fighting 36-year-old Willie Williams (14-8-2, 4 KOs) in a scheduled 10 round bout next month on March 6th at the Cabarrus Arena, in Concord, North Carolina, USA. Williams has lost six out of his last nine fights.
Since losing three straight fights in losses to Danny Green, Bernard Hopkins and Denis Lebedev, Jones has beaten Hany Atiyo, Courtney Fry, Pawel Glazewski , Max Alexander and Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf.
It doesn’t make sense that Jones Jr is looking to fight Marco Huck, because he’s considered to be the best fighter in the cruiserweight division by a lot of boxing fans. It would stand to reason that if Jones Jr isn’t good enough to beat Hopkins, Green and Lebedev.
Facing Willie Williams in order to get a title shot against Huck would seem like a backwards way of getting a title shot. Jones should at least have to face a top tier cruiserweight before he gets a world title shot against the guy considered to be the best in the division.
There are a lot of contenders that Jones will be skipping over if he gets a crack at Huck’s WBO title.
“What I am doing is staying busy because Marco Huck said he will fight me in the fall,” Jones said via ESPN.com. “I ain’t no spring chicken and I need to be properly prepared to fight Huck. If I get that fight it will probably be my last stab at (a world title) and then I’d call it a day. But I want to make sure I am ready as can be. I know Marco Huck is a totally different animal.”
The odds of Jones being able to beat Huck are virtually nonexistent in my view. Huck is a very hard puncher, and he’s already proven his worth in his 13 consecutive title defenses of his WBO belt.
The only fight where Huck was recently derailed was when he briefly moved up to the heavyweight division and just barely lost a 12 round decision to Alexander Povetkin.
The most likely outcome for Jones in a Huck fight is for Jones to wind up getting knocked out by the German fighter.
Huck has been looking for a big money fight against the Klitschko brothers for ages, but thus far he’s gotten nowhere in his attempts to get one of them in the ring.
It would be disappointing that Huck would be willing to face the 46-year-old Jones, because the American fighter is so far over the hill. However, a fight between Jones and Huck will likely be a huge bout in Germany, because a lot of German fans would like this fight.
It’s sad that this is a fight that Huck would be interested in, and it’s sadder that a lot of top cruiserweight contenders could get passed over by Jones getting a title shot instead of one of

The fight is not officially cancelled yet but it appears that way. They believe Lemieux is still under contract for another fight. So this will probably go to court. Signing with Golden Boy while still under contract obviously is a huge mess. I guess there are some legal issues that are rather confusing, Lemieux was under the impression he was a free agent but that may not have been the case.
So after the IBF has gone down the list and checked off all these names, it's looking like the next man up is Solimon lol. Or Sergio Mora. I wish the IBF would just postpone it, would be ridiculous if Solimon fights for the vacant title that he just lost.

Ward-GolovkinTrainer Abel Sanchez can see the dream match between his protégé Gennady Golovkin and the super middleweight boss Andre Ward in the not so distant future after Ward is given his expected tune-up fights.
“I think that’s a fight that’s probably two or three fights away,” Sanchez said in an interview with ThaBoxingVoice.
Golovkin (32-0, 29 KO) has remained active throughout his career since his debut in 2006, after an extensive amateur background that was punctuated with a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He is riding a 19-fight knockout streak, stopping every opponent he’s faced since November 2008. Ward (27-0, 14 KO), a fellow 2004 Olympian, who won gold at light heavyweight, is currently in the longest stint of inactivity of his career. One year and three months with no fights or dates scheduled.
“I’m hoping (Golovkin) fights four times,” Sanchez said regarding 2015. “Who it’s against doesn’t really matter to me as long as he stays busy because staying busy means he’s going to be ready for those elite guys.”
Golovkin has recently established himself as the seek and destroyer of the middleweight division, and is coming off an eleventh round shellacking of Martin Murray (29-1-1) in Monte Carlo on Feb. 22nd. That’s one fight; Sanchez hopes to fight again in June, which is rumored to be the month Ward could come back.
“I think (Golovkin is) scheduled again sometime in May or June,” Sanchez said. “And then maybe in September again and then before the end of the year, having my wishes that’s what that would be, four fights this year.”
Golovkin holds the WBA “super” middleweight strap and is working to win more belts; he still has fellow titleholders in Andy Lee (WBO), and Miguel Cotto (WBC) to fight at middleweight. However, Lee is scheduled to throw down with Peter Quillin on the undercard of a PBC event and Cotto has been fishing for a bigger name opponent like Canelo Alvarez.
This leaves Golovkin with limited options for busy fight schedule and eventually he might have to dip his toe into new weight class in search of opponents.
Ward was universally ranked no. 2 in the world behind Floyd Mayweather before he went inactive over contractual issues with his promoter at the time Goossen Promotions. He joined Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports and should be matched with a fight soon. The Oakland native has been back in the gym and posting evidence on his Instagram account.
Although Sanchez believes Gennady-Ward could be close, he doubts that it will take place in 2015. Sanchez quoted Ward who said he would take a couple of fights too, “Get back on track”. Undoubtedly to shake off any ring rust, which Sanchez says is fine and welcomes the best version of Ward to face Golovkin.
“I think Gennady would rather face (Andre) when he’s at 100% so that way there’s no excuses,” Sanchez said.
Ward cleaned out his division, and Golovkin seems to want to clean out his own. Their fight would be a big one for hard-core fans, but 2015 could be bad timing.
Golovkin-Ward resembles Mayweather-Pacquiao, a foreign puncher who comes out to fight, charming fans along the way, across from a dominant American boxer who has established himself as the best in the world. This fight could remind the casual fans of May-Pac if Ward fights a few solid opponents to re-establish himself in the division and Golovkin wins multiple titles, first.

Ward-GolovkinTrainer Abel Sanchez can see the dream match between his protégé Gennady Golovkin and the super middleweight boss Andre Ward in the not so distant future after Ward is given his expected tune-up fights.
“I think that’s a fight that’s probably two or three fights away,” Sanchez said in an interview with ThaBoxingVoice.
Golovkin (32-0, 29 KO) has remained active throughout his career since his debut in 2006, after an extensive amateur background that was punctuated with a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He is riding a 19-fight knockout streak, stopping every opponent he’s faced since November 2008. Ward (27-0, 14 KO), a fellow 2004 Olympian, who won gold at light heavyweight, is currently in the longest stint of inactivity of his career. One year and three months with no fights or dates scheduled.
“I’m hoping (Golovkin) fights four times,” Sanchez said regarding 2015. “Who it’s against doesn’t really matter to me as long as he stays busy because staying busy means he’s going to be ready for those elite guys.”
Golovkin has recently established himself as the seek and destroyer of the middleweight division, and is coming off an eleventh round shellacking of Martin Murray (29-1-1) in Monte Carlo on Feb. 22nd. That’s one fight; Sanchez hopes to fight again in June, which is rumored to be the month Ward could come back.
“I think (Golovkin is) scheduled again sometime in May or June,” Sanchez said. “And then maybe in September again and then before the end of the year, having my wishes that’s what that would be, four fights this year.”

Born in Escondido, Calif. but fighting out of Los Angeles, Arreola has long been one of the most feared punchers in the heavyweight division. He was a 2001 National Golden Gloves champion who turned pro in 2003 and slowly began his rise up the heavyweight rankings. In 2009, having already captured a number of regional belts, Arreola challenged Vitali Klitschko for the heavyweight world title at Staples Center in Los Angeles. He took the champ deep into the fight before retiring in the tenth round, but he did not let that deter him from continuing towards his championship goals.
After dropping a tough decision to Tomasz Adamek in 2010, Arreola pushed his way back into title contention with six-straight victories before he got a chance against Bermane Stiverne in 2013. In their first fight, Arreola lost a unanimous decision but earned himself another fight against Stiverne, this time for the heavyweight world championship. In an action-packed fight, Arreola was stopped in the sixth-round.
Now, Arreola looks to return to his winning ways in a familiar setting. This will be the 33-year-old’s fifth time fighting at Citizen’s Business Bank Arena and his tenth time fighting in Ontario, Calif. If his winning ways return, he could put himself back in the world title mix.
